Spotted a few SP-s before in hougang. So i'm not surprised.

My sp currently can only hit 120km/h and always have a buring smell when hit 90 & abv. when my speed is @ 80km/h my rmp is around 5.2-5.4. is it normal ? anyone know what is going wrong with my bike ? i know my 'kan-tong' already spoilt is it link to that ?

think is because u seldom clear carbon so when you hit 120km/hr ur rmp probably is around 7-8, u'll smell that. It's normal..

 

kan tong spoil better change it asap for safety purpose.. additional information, if your kan tong spoil, when you ride pass a hump, u'll feel that kan tong is not "bouncing back"

 

I always having problem to kick start always have to pull choke.

 

kick start and pull choke is because engine cold plus SP is more then 10yr old bike liao.. the "smoke" you see & smell is actually ur 2t smell... it's different from the burning smell that you mention earlier on. pulling choke in the morning is normal as well... dont worry about that...

Hi guys, is it cheaper to import a helmet from the States online or the local price is reasonable? Now that the exchange rate is usd:sgd 1:1.25 like that..

 

Also, I wanna get a NSR150SP as my first bike but two of my friends (both R1 riders ._. ) say that I should wait and get a 2A bike like CB400 as my first bike. Is that a good idea? I'm not in a hurry for a bike but i scare 400cc is too big for me to handle..

u should wait and get an R1

Means you have to drag your gears more often. Over 8k or 9k rpm will do

Hi ! need help from the more experienced sp riders here , have owned this sp for roughly 2 mths now , very satisfied with the bike and loving it

right now. But i have a few questions regarding to the bike , hope that i'll be enlightened by the seniors here! (:

 

1) My usual idling speed is like 1.8k below 2k , but i realize sometimes after traveling and while stopping at traffic light , my idling speed actually increases to like 3k rpm , when i release the clutch a little , it drops back to the usual 1.8k and idles there. Is there something that i should do abt this?

 

2)Currently have an airbox but without any filter inside , is it wise to do so? Heard from a bike mech that without air filter is okay , just that have to wash carb more often thn others and bike fc will be a little worse. Have been thinking of installing K&N air filter , will the power be the same and yet fc improve?

 

3) How often to decarb pipe and wash carb? Currently feels that when my bike moving off is abit heavy. Will decarb pipe and washing the carb affect the settings and tunings of the bike? Is decarb-ing the pipe in singapore legal? as i believe it will cause the exhaust to be louder right?

 

Hopefully the seniors in the forum will be able to address my issues with my bike! The bike is working fine and performing well , just that i'm a paranoid little soul hahaha. thanks!
