I have an issue with my so far problem-free SP.

 

Some months back, I changed my battery cos it died. Recently, I find that the battery seems to be dying too and I'm not sure if it's charging properly. I did observe something though.

 

Previously, my lights will get brighter when I twist the throttle and it dims when the rpm drops to idle. But now, when I apply throttle, the lights have the following transition: Dim-Brighter-Dim. The lights get brighter when it is around 3-3.5k rpm. Once above or below that, it dims (idle level brightness).

 

I suspect it might be my rectifier or magnetic coil. Anyone knows the ballpark figure for the replacement of these parts would cost?

rectifier is cheap but magnetic coil is ex.

Hi sp riders, I have a pro here. Hopefully some1 can help me. My gearshifting get stuck either up or down gear. Still able to change gears but really very difficult. Will get stuck in some points. Has anybody encounter this pro and solved it? pls do share your experience with me as I'm facing it nw =x thanks!

Forums proven is Ah Chong's Planet Motor.

 

For me, i go Hup Hin and Racewerkz at Alexandra, cos Planet was closed the last time i did servicing.

Magneto Coil and Rectifier comes as a set usually. replace both is about $280-300 plus. I got a 2nd hand magneto coil replacement for my spoilt one, since i changing bike when go 2A. $140.

Hey guys, went to Planet, Ah Chong say my CDI spoil. Change may cost a bomb. Anyone can enlighten me what this CDI actually does? And how much to change it? Basically, my bike at rpm 5000 feel like 'choking' from the sound. but after 6000 or so, it becomes a bit normal, just that not much power. Quite uncomfortable to ride esp at low speed during morning rush.

The rpm 5k feel like choking it's normal, if you want cdi i have extra for sale.

when slowing down to a slower pace den can hear.. whether clutched in or not

 

Does that mean engine braking? If engine braking and you could hear/feel "marbles", high possibility that engine bearings are the cause.
