hi all, need some advise here, after riding my sp for a few years...did spent quite a sum of $$$ to replace faulty parts, find the maintenace a bit high as my income is not a lot. therefore was thinking whether should I sell off my SP and downgrade to a wave instead. I have a friend riding wave for quite a number of years..maintenance damn low and the fuel consumption is also superb..parts and repair are also cheap...my SP ending 2020..do you think the amount of the sale will be enough to get a good condition wave? i feel that the selling price of wave currently is quite high but the offer price for SP is damn low. maybe it is due to the economical value of wave compared to SP..

What do u mean by high maintanence?

If u have replaced all the faulty parts..

If u keep the bike standard, regular maintanence is only 2t which normal usage is 1l/month around $1x per bottle.

But depends on ur riding preference too.

I rode my first sp when i was still studying without a job.

for example..the cost of replacing tyres, spockets and chain, rear suspension for SP is higher than wave, SP requires 2T(wave got no 2T), SP got coolant(wave also no coolant, lesser possibilty of leak due to faulty oil seal). SP also got valve which needs servicing, wave no valve..etc

the u should get the wave

but provided you can take it.

because the sp can go at a higher speed then the wave .

You have already answered your own question, you should buy a wave.

Last time I got 3 friends riding SP, 2 changed wave, 1 changed X9 200cc.

3 months later, they change back SP again.

Hope this helps you :D

After riding sp for sometime, i tried friends 2b 4 stroke sportbikes like the cbr150 and r15, i jitao buey tahan. Agree that wave is VERY VERY economical but can u take the downgrade? like what wait4me said wave slower than sp. If u dont mind the sudden lost of power, then get a wave. Saves u lots of money!

I have ridden but never bought a wave.

But i bought a sonic 125 while owning pgm.

Sonic is a sports cub, with full length forks. Its handling is quite fun and after setting sprockets only, i can hit 140km/h on meter. (Rider full tuck in or downslop or slipstreaming. Haha)

Used to go work daily from bedok to woodlands.

Is quite ok but when u're in a rush really cannot go faster when already at full throttle.

But its not as economical as wave. Since its got radiator and always riding full throttle everywhere doesnt really save fuel. Haha.

4lliter of petrol only can go 1xxkm.

Still regret selling it. :(

u gotta know whats ur meat n poison so can make a more calculated decision..

But need to remember if u want to buy wave also need to pay $$.. insurance, ect.

Maybe best bet is one to one trade. But still need to pay for transfer n insurance.
