Thanks Im_A_Rider and JrCherish. Only considering between SP and KR as of now. No cubs. Anyway what insurance do you guys recommend for a 21 year old(turning 22 this year)? Passed my 2B back in July 2011. I can only find NTUC which quoted $820. And I've heard of MSIG but need agent, anybody got contact for MSIG agent?

Guys, any1 lost a SP recently? I saw one parked on pavement at mandai road, has been there for a week plus already. Color is white and blue, if i recall correctly.

What is the best way to resolve kickstart problems? i dont have confidence. imagine bike stalls at traffic light and i cant move off.

 

the battery is new. sparkplug is new.

 

is there anything to tune?

Is anyone still around here?

 

- Managed to resolve coldstart,

 

after reading internet resources, and it works. Here are the steps; it works for me:

 

- Turn off the fuel supply by turning it to OFF

- Turn the engine-kill switch to OFF.

- Ignition key is OFF.

- Kickstart the pedal a few times.

 

Then,

 

- Turn on fuel supply,

- Disable the engine-kill switch.

- Turn on ignition, neutral,

- HOLD the choke, and kickstart (Press the level halfway down until can feel slight resistance, then push it down/forward hard). The engine starts, but very low rev, on the verge of dying. Release choke. Rev the engine.

 

- If the engine dies, don't use the choke this time. Kickstart while turn on the throttle.

 

 

Btw, will have lot of white smoke. Is that normal?

Hi all new rider here. I just overhauled my engine 3 days back. Initially my bike was doing ok but today when I start my engine it keeps dying off.

Even when it doesn't, when I tap down to gear 1 it dies off instantly.

I've called the bike shop to ask about this problem and he told me is the carburetor settings or something like that.

Anyone have similar experience? Care to share the solution?

What 2T do y'all use? I need to refill soon. I bought Mobil 1 Fully Syn 2T(some call it Mobil Gold? Idk) from LAB at $17. Planned to buy Motul 710 but it was out of stocked. I've also heard of rumors saying LAB 2T can't be trusted. Not sure how true. Hope to get some recommendations from the experienced riders.

 

And also what engine oil do you guys recommend? Semi or fully syn? And from what brand? Went wing yap recently to change engine oil(semi syn, not sure what brand) and spark plug(not sure what brand either). Paid $25.

Anyone got tips to remove the gas tank from the motorcycle. Because I saw alot rust inside the tank itself. Feel like removing it and clean the rust off. Heard that it will choke the carb.

Just turn it. Face up is reserve, face down is on, side is off

 

Take out tank jus got few screws. Just open it and lift.
