What fuel price increase again !! Zzz and to think I'm going to buy a car.

Wonder if it got to do with this report

Oil prices hit new record highs after crossing 70 dollars a barrel as powerful Hurricane Katrina threatened the crude-producing Gulf of Mexico region in the United States.

NEWS CONFIRMED.

SINGAPORE, 29 August 2005. Effective from 6:00pm today, retail pump prices for Synergy petrol at all 77 Esso and Mobil service stations in Singapore will increase by nine cents a litre.

The following prices will apply to our various grades of petrol:

Old Pump Price New Pump Price

Inclusive of 5% GST Inclusive of 5% GST

Product ($/Litre) ($/Litre)

Synergy 8000 1.837 1.927

Synergy 5000 1.754 1.844

Synergy 2000 1.722 1.812

Synergy diesel remains unchanged at $1.17 per litre.

This increase in petrol prices is primarily due to high crude oil and wholesale petrol prices. The price of crude oil is at record high levels. In the past year, retail prices have not kept pace with the sharp increase in wholesale product prices. We have tried, for as long as we can, to shield our customers from this increase.

hi everybody im new here. i have some questions to ask ah. my bike cant start after it has cooled down. this occurs especially at night. in order to start it, i have to push start it.

can anyone tell me what is the problem? i went to my bike shop and he said my carburetor choke and he washed it for me but it still happen. now my friend says maybe the battery is weak. my horn sounds lame and my headlight is dimmer as compared to my friends.

andy, did u have the same problem?

Posted

Some riders prefer dry battery becos its much easier to recharge the batt, for wet I find it quite ok since U can see the balance of the content inside the battery, btw anyone know the avg lifespan of a battery?

Cld U be more descriptives on cool down? Is it park over night? Did U use open ur choke when U start? Try not to open the throttle when U kick start as too much petrol much flood the value. Another possibility cld be the battery, worst rectifier.

Since ur mech mention its carb and he already wash it why not go back and tell him problem still persist. Maybe he have another solution.

Either change riding style or buy another type of bike. Btw when U pump petrol did U pump almost to the brink? Do check how much U cld pump each time when ur fuel reach reserve, if I'm not wrong U shld be able to pump ard 10 litres.

Other possibilities include, ur fuel pins, air filter, dirty carb.

Er. i can go abt 250km before reserve. if i use gradual acceleration, i could go up to 290km before reserve.

sumtime it is not bout yer weak batt..

ya need to warm ya bike n throttle to make yer bike hav power.

when yer bike is on exactly da rite temp..

da horn n light will be better...

If you throttle more then your horn can work, it means your battery is weak. My sp last time also like this, turn throttle then horn will be louder. Its a sign that your battery is weak le.

I dont know that temperature can affect horn and lighting, what kinda logic is that?

guys u all have any idea how u can tighten the chain urself?

1st, use the spanner that comes wif ur sp to loosen the pro-arm bolt

2nd, squating at the left side of ur rear wheel, use the C-tool that comes wif ur sp and slot it somewhere between ur rim and the pro-arm...turn clockwise to tighten...counter-clockwise to loosen...

Tighten it but not over tighten, else it might snap and u got a whole load of problem to handle

Gd luck!
