Dear friends,

I am very happy to writing to you from Greece. The reason why I decided to write to you is because here in Greece we face a great problem with sym regarding sym maxsym 400i abs. Its a very popular model here but unfortunately Sym doesn't behave as we expected. I wanted to share information with you and maybe help to this issue.

Below you will find a letter we've sent to Sym in which you will be aware of the problem we face and Sym 's unacceptable answer.

our letter

"Dear Sirs,

This letter is to inform you for a strange situation is happening here in Greece regarding the maxsym 400i abs owners and the greek dealer company.

First of all I am a moderator of the official http://www.scooterclubhellas.gr which consists of 25000 members in total and is the only organized scooter club in the country with a great number of Sym owners .

The confusing issue which is being discussed nowadays among maxsym 400i abs owners online and offline is that there is in the same model 2 different types of speedometer, the one which alerts with the signal light that you run out of gas and also alerts with the signal light for dangerous levels of temperature and the other that these lights are fully on, no matter what is happening without alerting for anything (this type is the old type which was used for the non abs version).

In the case of the 1st type everything works well but in the 2nd type there are several concerns about the safety of the vehicle and furthermore is really annoying paying for the same thing without knowing what you have bought. We understand that Sym as a serious company decided to change the incomplete speedometer but we cannot understand how is it possible, Sym not to replace the incomplete speedometers from the other vehicles of the SAME version (maxsym 400i abs).

Due to these facts and as complaints are proliferating I talked today (22/10/2012) with mr. Karanikas to the central offices of Gorgolis which is the official Sym greek dealer. He admitted that he knows the issue as he has also received some emails but he cannot do anything without the prompt of Sym. I am so sad to say that the arguments he quoted were not serious for such a large company.

As a result all maxsym abs owners having this problem (including me) remained dissatisfied and the future possible owners are rethinking their choice as they don’t want to face these problems (old incomplete speedometer) and also this kind of unacceptable behavior.

I believe that you should be informed of this sorrowful situation in order to do what is needed restoring Sym’s brand name. The only thing you should do is recalling the vehicles with the incomplete speedometer in order this to be replaced with the complete one.

Mr. Karanikas from Gorgolis company was informed by me that this letter will be send to you. This letter will also be forwarded to the press as we believe that everyone should know of such a fact before he buys a new maxsym abs, just in order to have the chance to buy with his money the most complete vehicle he can.

We are looking forward to hearing from you good news.

Best Regards

answer

"Dear Mr.Stratos,

Good day!

This is Raymond from SYM overseas service dept.

Regarding the Maxsym abs speedometer issue you mentioned, we would like to reply you as following:

The new version of abs speedometer is a evolution of this product, not due to any deficiency. Therefore, SYM is not obligated to compensate customers who bought the previous version.

We are very sorry that the modification was too close from launching 1st Maxsym abs version , and we will avoid this kind of things happening from future models.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best Regards,

Raymond"

Please let us know if you face the same problem and your thoughts.

Thank you a lot my friends!!!!
