Hi Guys,

I need some help here.

I received a Notice to Attend Court, for a speeding offence that took place in June 2011, where i did not furnish driver details within 7 days.

Frankly, it was 1.5 years ago and i can recall nothing about the offence. I should have made payment for the summon already, else they probably won't let me live in peace for the last 1.5 years. The letter than came with it also stated 0 demerit points, so i supposed i was already penalized for it.

It's a genuine lapse on my part that i don't read the letters fully, i saw how much i'm liable to pay and i just made the payment. I didn't know that speeding offence, unlike parking offence, is mandatory to submit drivers' details. Again, for the last 1 year, i didn't quite receive follow-up reminders/notifications to submit it, or any compounded fine for the lapse.

Things wasn't on my side, i was too busy with school and work and i didn't have time to attempt to appeal against the traffic police. Just saw the letter again now, and i'll have to attend the court this Wednesday. I think i'll just pay the fine and get over it.

I just want to ask if anyone experienced the same thing before, and hope that you can tell me how much fine i should be expecting. I had another court experience for failing to renew my road tax, and it was usually $200-$600 but i got lucky with $50 eventually, but i had to pay immediately or face being jailed for failure to pay a fine. So i just hope to know what kind of fine this is going to be. Hope someone can give a clue!

Regards,

Maestro
