Hi Fredd,

Recently I go to Scooter Narcotics. and it's good place to go for service. Haven't tried AGL.

Btw, to set the idle engine, you probably can refer to this youtube video:

My engine is around 1500 rpm during idle.

cheers

Idling @1.5k rpm is good for cold mornin start. No worries.

Our gts can packed 12 litres of petrol(10 litre + 2 reserve)

Gotten a 4yrs gts on 20k mileage? Well I gotten my 5 yrs gts for 20k mileage from a taxi driver, which explains why. It's possible for the Mileage to be reset when they change the LCD panel assembly. Guys, having problem with LCD panel can find me. Just happened to repair mine a month back. Can share tips and where to get a panel.

Scooter narcotic very good service and work, however a bit ex. Doing full service package(198++) is ok. Was quoted last week for a pair of ball bearing ($40), where I got it for $24 @ nam wah

Hmmmm seem like I'm trying the gas treatment soon too. Haha

My idle is about 2000 in the morning when just started up. Becomes 1500 when engine is warm.

Dom is the LCD repair king!!

Yes, 12 liters of petrol can fit in, no problem.

Hi Fred,

Gas treatment is an fuel additive which oil company claims to increase mileage and clean your crab.

However all this is done with little results.

I would say, give it a try with your ride isn't that smooth and jerky. Since it only cost less than $10.

Otherwise don't waste $$ on it.

I'm on the stage of trying as well. But my ride is pretty smooth, so doesn't differ much ;)

Hi gpan,

Not LCD repair king la. Lol. With the gts200 service manual, u might be able to determine if your LCD panel is spoilt or its just a fuse or just poor contact. If u didn't change anything electronically , low chance u need to change the panel.

Can help save $$ for our bro here if possible ma

Cheers cheers, Dom

Dom,

Have you come across rear wheel rotating with slight unbalance, and can hear some brake scratching sound during rotation. My bike just completed on 1100km. it's a new bike and not sure it's normal.

If it's not normal, where can I send for a check. Although my bike still under warranty, but I have no confident of the mech there. Any advice on which bike shop is into more tender loving care on our bikes?

Cheers!!

Hi spark light,

There might be a slight chance of your rear wheel's disc brake is misaligned. Go back to Mah and squeeze them dry before you spend any $$ on other bikeshop. Don waste $$ bro, got warranty must make full use right^^

Hi fredd,

Went (mega) Giant tampines, alot there to see. Heed one of our bro's post and purchased few days back to try it out. No different in mileage, power on my first use.

I remember some where in Rowell rd selling the clear wind screen. Refer to our previous post (pg10-15, I think) there is a good post regarding everything abt our gts 200.

I benefited alot from their post .

Thanks for our forumers posting their experience and tips

Bro, sad to say its not from Mah. I got it from Global Motor. So... eh... suggestions? I am very picky on my ride. If the mech gave me the wrong answers or suggested the wrong things for my bike . Then that's it. I got many bad experiences. So that's why.

Cheers!

Bro just realised Nam Wah is just Sell SYM bikes, but the mech there is actually a free lance who uses space at Nam Wah and he will only buy whateva parts from Mike Only.BTW the repair there is quite ex,.Had some rough idling and revving problem, was quoted $400 to change entire carb.

Decided to bring to another shop and the carb just needed a wash and retune...runs super smooth now

Can try Tai Hin,OEM SYM part+labour almost half the price of what NAM WAH mech quoted...

So much So NAM WAH "SYM" Mech...

went to Pang Scooters as my bro maintains his GTS there, all together was $20+,and there also tuned the carb.Bike starts with a single push and runs very smooth thru all rpms.

And NamWah the mech, did not actually tighten back my things properly air filter cover and side skirt,as initally changed my air filter and oil. Some things were really lose and had to re-tighten after seeing all the screws loose side skirt dropped otr while ridding -_-...

TaiHin prices seems quite reasonable for their OEM parts.

Good to know, Good to know. Thanks Ah786786,

Sometimes things are like that, we don't mind spending a bit more as we're travelling on the road, but difficult to get mechanics who really cares.

I once remembered my ex-car have rear brakes issues and the piston was leaking with brake fluid, the mechanic says you just drive back and come back tomorrow to have it replaced. I say what?? I drive the machine quiet fast and I push my vehicles to it's capacity, so if I die, I will come back and haunt you for life. No sure where he got the parts and the item was changed immediately within the same day.

Same for my baby GTS, I bought the new bike without the bloody air filter installed inside and I was super hot and angry... But ding dong here and there, got what I wanted and issue resolved. I told myself, this won't do. Have to spend time DIY, furthermore I have the tools, why not.

Well, good to share. Thanks for the help!!

Bro,

Our scooter most parts are plastic, so there is a trick in preventing new thread cutting, but I believe the mechanics never does that.

As we screw in the parts after doing what we are doing, try to turn the screw anti-clockwise (loosen direction) first. You will feel the small drop, or sit in feeling of the screw, that's where you slowly tighten in to prevent new thread cut. Our parts will also last longer. Only with the metal clips ones, then slightly a bit better.

Just for info. Cheers!!
