SYM GTS200 group

All the shifu... Having a great headache with my 2008 gts now... Keep on overheating... Change carb...block gasket...valve gasket..air filter..thermostat ...add in one fan...change coolant cap..flush radiator...after a week the overheat come back again...any reliable workshop I can attend too...

I love these bike

Try HKL..i did solve my prob.. mine is they changed complete assy thermostat n radiator flush..now temp at 1 bar only.

i just bought a gts and as i have work during the day, i only managed to view the bike in the evening/at night and i didnt notice that the exhaust pipe has some portions that have rust only until when i washed the bike today.

 

can any old birds please advise me is it possible to remove the rusting? if not, how much would a new exhaust pipe cost.

Hi guys,

 

sorry to keep asking questions...really noob at scooters (but if u ask me about naked bikes i can ans particularly everything);

 

1. my 1st servicing is reaching soon..got free labour charges at Mah motor, heard many bad reviews bout Mah after sales service. but lan lan still under warranty...would like to ask..wat kinda a engine oil should I ask for? dun want later they chop carrot ask me to buy the more than needed quality

 

2. when i start off my engine in the morning or after a very long parking (when "heating it up) - hopefully it is a correct term to use. the idling seems to fluctuates between 1k to 2k rpm.. is tat normal? after 2-3 mins it returns to contants 1.75k rpm.

 

3. i read the manual, there is a fog light indicator? how do i switch on the fog light? is it the switch in the center between "off" and " low beam", when the round LED light is on?. coz tested every switch. n the fog light indicator is nver "on".

 

really sorry for a lot of question. really noob at hi tech scooter..last time rode a naked bike..just on, and ride..

Go to any shop just changed gear oil n engine oil will do..

For warming up is normal at near 2k rpm..

For fog light i think is there is additional to fit into..only have po light n low n high beam light

Thanks alot mighty max. For warming up wat i mean tat in a span of 1 min, rpm fluctuates up n down between 1k-2k range by itself. Is it normal?

Is yr bike new or used?..mine mostly near at 2k rpm...

If gear n engine oils mostly cost ard $30 to $35..

Used better grade oil..

If u buy used bike, better changed yr air filter

u park the bike after the ride

the bike and exhaust is hot

the sound from back of bike likely from exhaust

if yes to the above

 

the sound is due to heat from the exhaust

very normal

Sounf is normal unless Leo vince have motogp style exhaust for gts...that will makes it a solid looks..

Just for some info,

When starting the bike make sure the headlight is off.

Mine low beam was on and started the bike and the bulb just went off....

So had to change,so changed EO and gearoil

 

change bulb $15

IPONE EO $18

IPONE Gearoil $15

 

Feels less rough-ness at higer RPM.

hi guys, im new here.. ride GTS200 2005 model... just bought it second hand. overall the bike is allright...

just the tachometer is acting strangely.. on cold start, morning.. the RPM is looks like malfunction.. but the after a while on the road it's start to alive, juts fluctuate betweeen RPm number 1 and 2, then after 30 minutes of riding.. everything is normal.. i suspect it might be the ignition transistor where the tachometer connected to.. any idea where can i get it check, i have try to plug it to another meter.. and the same behavior.

Any recommended workshop to visit ?

I need to change me exhaust too. just found out that it's a joyrid exhaust.. taihin quoted me for 450 for standard SYM GTS200 exhaust
