If you can, get a newer bike. I bought a 5 years old bike and spend quite a lot of money repairing it. The money spent its almost like buying a new bike already. But it was fun to ride a scooter and can put many things. Scooter are quite fuel efficient but the replacement parts might be more expensive. If u dont wack ur bike, it should last quite long.

I think some luck is needed when buying a used bike...I bought my GTS when it was 4 years old and it's been awesome ever since. 2 small issues with a small brace cracking and exhaust bolt sheared off but easily fixed.

Tyres wise the shop wanna charge me $180 for michellin, any cheaper shop selling michellin?, currently on bike is maxxis, i scared slippery on rainy days.

Chex 900 10w 50 fully syntethic engine oil $17

 

belt, rollers, u shoes. $120

 

Fren fren price total $130.

 

Roughly all the shops price is about the same. Difference of say abt $10 depending also of the engine oil use.

My fuel indicator seems like spoilt, sometime on 1 bar, than i off and on again become 2 bar.. anyone know whats wrong here?, need to change fuel level reader inside petrol tank is it?, the cost?.. plus usually full tank can go how many km?, thank u

My full tank roughly can go between 340-360km now. Previously before servicing, at most 320 only. I felt it is mainly due to the tuning for optimum fuel and air ratio.

Mine used to be 340-360( Max 380,done and tried it ^^ ). FC around 30 +/-1 kmL .

Recently after changing carb needle ( which was broken) and fuel valve diaphragm, now I think my fc drop to 24-25 kmL.

 

Asked 2 mech from different shop, both told me that due to wear and tear, the old needle might be running lean/something like that. Now the parts are new, it runs more "efficiently". I wonder if they are saying the real deal, as I done 4K for now (80-100km wkday) no sign of improved fc.

 

Another qns, recently my bike requires a few electric start to kick off bike. New plug changed and batt voltage( after stabilized, 3-4 hr no riding) 12.7.

Still same.

 

Do any fellow gts have any idea?
