Faulty IU, can DIY?

My bike had some coil issue and wouldn't charge properly, end up battery drained for couple of days before I finally got time to push start and bring to my mechanic.
After mechanic fixed the coil, discovered my IU not reacting when inserting cashcard, gantry detect also display either "no Iu" or "faulty IU".

I tried removing the fuse and plugging it back, when do this, the IU when light up, display "On" for 10 seconds, and then go back to sleep with no further reaction. I don't think is fuse blown since it will still light up when reconnected. Any advise, aside from bringing to VICOM for replacement (warranty long over)?

Personally, I would suggest you to go to your bike shop and ask them to help you to connect it properly.. (to signal relay or fuse box) so that it will activate upon key switch on.. (prevent battery drainage since we dun ride as often as we did)

Go Vicom = change IU.. so go only if you wan to change to a brand new one..   Otherwise, your trusted workshop.. Usually it's free if you are doing some stuff as well.. at most, charge you $5 for some cutting of wires, connecting to the correct wires.. unless you are knowledgable about your bike wiring, then you can try to DIY.. but prepare some fuse just in case you blown yours.. LOL..

So when my mechanic saw the "On" display, he told me I will need to bring it to inspection centre for servicing. Today just brought to VICOM, the technician abang helped me troubleshoot, checked wire, checked fuse, then when the "On" sign came up, he say no choice need to replace new one. LL, 170$

@krashed Comes with 5 year warranty right the new IU unit?

yes, 5 years. if change new 1st hand bike can transfer over
