Taking 2b during this covid time

Hi everyone I am planning to take my class 2b during covid period how is the procedure now is it easy to get lesson? Also do I need to finish all my theory lesson then I can book my practical lesson is it? Please advise thanks guys

Hey, great to hear you're starting your 2b journey!

I'm currently taking my 2b license in SSDC so it may differ between different centres for the enrolment, but for ssdc you can enrol for the 2b license through their website. Once enrolled, make an appointment to go there for the eyesight test and payment fees (enrolment fee and the theory lesson fees) and you're good to go for the lessons once cleared

Nope it's not necessary to finish all the theory lessons then go for your first practical lesson. You can take your practical lessons whilst going through your theory lessons, but before your road practical lessons, you have to finish all the theory lessons leading up to your BTT, and apply for PDL (which is needed for road riding) once you've passed your BTT, I think this should be the same throughout the driving centres.

So yeah, for the circuit practical lessons beforehand in the driving centre you can proceed on from the start. And lastly before your final TP test, you have to finish all the lessons leading up to your RTT and pass it, before you can apply for your TP test. Sidenote, for the BTT and RTT in SSDC there's theory trial tests which we have to pass before we can then apply for the actual tests.

It may be confusing but there should be a roadmap for the 2b license on the driving centre website which you can refer to

For the frequency of lessons, the theory lessons should be pretty fast and usually can be done in 1-2 months. The one that takes quite a long time is the practical lessons which may take 2-3 weeks of waiting time for a slot

Covid period did affect the waiting time making it to be longer by quite a bit, heard last time it takes about a week usually for a practical lesson slot

Based of your location, I think you're thinking of enrolling into BBDC? BBDC should be much faster than SSDC. Had a friend who took 2b license earlier this year and usually can get practical slot in the next few days, or even the next day, and he got his 2b license in just 2 months

SSDC is known for its longer waiting time (and also being more strict too), so getting 2b license usually takes about 5-12 months or even more

Ofc the duration of completing the license ultimately is based on the individual as some takes lesser/more repeats than others

Thanks for the input wayfarerwsh. Yes I’m taking at bbdc try booking practical lesson a few times no slot I I’m going to complete the theory while waiting for the practical

Ouh, hmm well make sure to keep camping the site whenever you can, most of those who can get their slots fast do so, so yeah gotta keep camping and refreshing the site (I always check slots every 1-2 hours when I'm free hahah, and able to have earlier slots half of the time)

If still somehow no slot, maybe you can ask around the instructors at the centre, or other students if they face the same problem, been a while since I've known how bbdc is now so they might have changed
