helmet is use to protect your head, so if u fall and damage your helmet then the helmet serve its purpose.

I think he meant like it's pointless to buy a expensive helmet since you are probably gonna fall or hurt yourself in the learning process.

yeah i know his point, but i dont like the idea, as the helmet is meant to protect your head, a better helmet will save you from more injury. most of the sch helmet are not well maintain some doesnt even have visor, if u fall and land face first u going to get cuts. having a good helmet always help in preventing painful cuts, imagine u skid on ebrake and cut your face, its gona leave a scar. $100 helmet or a scar its your choice

CDC no provide. Must buy. But the problem is u can't buy a full Face coz not allowed. So the compromise is buy the school one first and after passing buy full Face

Ebraking is something like riding bicycle using the brakes.. trust the bike.. don't jam down rear brake too hard.. rear easier to skid than front

All the best :D

motorbike and bicycle CG is different. Bicycle jam front brake will fly due to no engine like motorbike has. why motorbike jam rear brake will skid? simple reason of CG again. and normally jam brake it will confirm plus guarantee chop it will skid even a bicycle. motorbike main stopping brake is front but warning 1st.. at turning, dun use front brake. u will fly. =X

oh lesson 8 usually need to wait how long? my friend taking lesson 7 this saturaday

More of it is the available time slot doesn't match ur schedule. As of now, most of lesson 8 session is at 10.20am.

Next available one is 30july.. Probably 2weeks

After you passed TP Test, Expressway Familiarization Course is compulsory, the instructor will stick P-Plate on centre bikes front and rear. Ride out with instructor in staggered formation once on highway, one instructor in front leading another one at the rear.

During my time this is optional , so only 4 to 5 riders. Once passed TP, those with license submit to instructor for TP counter sticker, those without license, prepare a passport size photo for new license.

It is a fun and enjoyable experience.

Cheers Guys...

Lesson 8 is like a stimulation test TP, colour vest is light green. the instructor will bring u out for warming up. Before that, you need to clear circuit test without immediate failure, then the assigned instructor will lead you out of centre for road riding, defensive and actual TP test route riding test, you need to show him and demo good riding skills with all the safety checks, turns, obey rules, corner, using engine brakes, proper engage of gears, scan for dangers depending on the road condition.

Once he find you very stable in road riding test , he will lead you back to centre, along the way he will ask you, passed RTT, what motor you will buy after passing TP. (tips: if he ask all these then he will clear you for TP test booking) haha

Lesson 8 is tough , advise to practise more road riding revision.

Lesson 7 summary.

The lesson is simply a test route familiarization.

There are usually 6 riders to 2 instructors. They bring you round route 1 and route 2 for the tp test.

After the second ride which is for route 2 some of the students will be tested on an evaluation lap. Make a mistake and fail the lesson. For those who perform ok during lap 1 and lap 2 may not need to do the evaluation lap to pass.

Will update with route maps later.

oh. figure 8 i use the same technique as slalom - knee grip tank, gear 2, constant throttle and use rear brake to control speed. must lean the bike to take the curves otherwise will be too slow. and look ahead to the center part of the figure 8 where the lanes cross - basically look where you want to go and you will be better balanced. if you look down you won't be able to anticipate when to change direction or adjust speed. its ok if you hear the brake squeeking or groaning.

For figure 8 I'm having a bit of trouble trying to change to gear 2 after the yellow line as I felt the distance from where the bikes are waiting to enter figure 8 is like a bit too near, kind of hard or like not enough time to change gear. And for crank course the distance is much, more nearer, which makes it even harder, imo. =P

The waiting area before stating figure 8 is not a stop line. So u don't have to stop right in front. Stop earlier, give urself an extra foot or 2. Go secondly it is not necessary to change gear before the yellow line I can change just as you reach or even just after. For crank as long as u change before u turn right into the middle section.

As you move off from fig 8 start line, throttle hard and immediately place ur left foot at the up gear position. So once u enter fig 8. Just do a clutch in and shift up gear. Dun throttle off. Just use foot brake to decelerate. Bank low so that u can turn safe. Along the middle point of fig 8. U should accelerate on the "straight" path. Nvr go slow.
