hello peeps, wanna find out how long do we have to wait before the "free" boxes that ASPhoon promised me for the LX150 will arrived? anyone else also waiting for it?

Anybody bought their lx150 at alexandra? i'm dropping my p plate in march. Will insurance be cheaper once i drop my p plate? cause i intend on getting by end of feb if insurance is not cheaper.

yeah,insurance will be cheaper when you are no longer a p plate......

try asking for an AIG insurance..i think theirs is cheaper if not the cheapest....

Done it at Replica. Paint job itself cost around S$550.00~.

 

Left bike at Future for dismantling & assembling. That will be another additional cost of S$80.00~. (Must look for Ah Seng of FS. Not Ah Seng of Ah Seng Aquarium. Kekeke..........)

LX at Alexandra. Is it Albert? kennyatemyburger got his bike there. You might want to speak to him???

 

As for insurance, can also consider Mitsui.

 

BTW, thougt insurance is based on age?

i think last time i saw an AIG insurance quote, it's ard $400+ for 1 yr riding exp, 21yrs old, for a 1st hand spark 135

in my opinion get a px dude. i've always thought of getting a twist and go bike cause i thought they were so easy. i've tried gilera runner and a couple of other auto kups like yamaha mio and nouvo but honestly nothing beats the feeling of changing gears. plus engine brake is more useful than i had imagined. get a new px with front disk brake and you're good to go. older models might need a mod or two if you want your ride to be smoother.

 

Sharpey is right, they sell Mojitos at that shop at the corner of the big junction going towards Boon Keng road. I used to want one badly but then I figured out it ain't really worth the price tag. ~7k if I'm not wrong.

Need some inputs from u guys... I’m doing some homework/research for my gf who wants to buy a LX 150 after she pass her 2B...

 

Now I’m in the midst of doing some $$$ calculations. Need to find out the maintenance cost for the bike. I need some info on costing

 

1) Belt Cost, duration of change?

2) Rollers cost? How many and duration of change

3) Any Coolant?

4) Tires a set how much, duration of change

5) Spark plug how many, engine oil how much and any oil filter?

6) Brake pads, how many sets? How much per set?

7) Petrol Consumption?

8) Is there any things else that I miss out that I can foresee must change within 2yrs of ownership?

 

 

Really appreciate if the LX riders here can help mi on the above. Cheers!

my 2 cents

 

1) Belt Cost, duration of change?

$100+-, 12000km-18000km

 

2) Rollers cost? How many and duration of change.

$25+-, recommended with full servicing

3) Any Coolant?

Lx150 does not have coolant, only gt200,gt60,gtv125 & 250

 

4) Tires a set how much, duration of change

$150+- 1 set. Rear is 10000km+-, front 16000km+-

 

5) Spark plug how many, engine oil how much and any oil filter?

Spark plug $10+- (Average between champion and denso) only 1. Can last more than one

 

can remember. ahah

 

engine oil $15-25 (Castrol R4 to Motul) every 5000km recommended

1 litre.

 

oil filter. $20+-. Recommended to be changed with engine oil changed.

200ml+- capacity needed to fill it up

 

6) Brake pads, how many sets? How much per set?

Unsure, yet to change. Still healthy after 17000km.

 

7) Petrol Consumption?

For lx150, fc is 37km/litre @ its best.

 

8) Is there any things else that I miss out that I can foresee must change within 2yrs

 

of ownership?

Hmm, hub oil, which last as long as spark plug. Do need to check with dip stick.

Fuel, brake hoses. Around $20 each.

Cleaning of carb.

yeap original piaggio belt for ET & LX is only $60.

pollini's $80+.

i had mine changed at 10K km & 20K km full servicing.

 

workmanship is $30

am currently waiting to go for prac 8. so still quite a long way to go b4 i finally get my license.

have been riding a vespa since young (dad's riding a vespa) so vespa's the only way to go for me

as i'm kinda short (1.5m ONLY), wanna noe if i can ride on the vespa, coz most i see are kinda 'tall' for me.

any comments?
