Hi guys,

I'm new to the bike. I found that after riding for some distance, if the engine idles, the beep horn will sound. First, I thought it's the heat, but it still sounds after some distance on the express way which the air cools the engine alot.

Any idea why the beep horn keeps beeping?

Thanks in advance guys.

There is a beep horn on a Shadow? If it is your horn, then your wiring could be screwed. But if its a new feature to a Shadow, them I am unaware of it.

have bike will travel . . . . .

Is it a beep sound or a beep from the horn? Anyway I think you won't get much air cooling of the engine cos the Shadow is liquid cooled.

Talking about horns, I think I need to change mine. Mine sounds like a dying bird's fart with a sore throat.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, plasticblackspecs, (interesting nick u have there)

It's a continuous beep sound if the engine is idle after running some distance, sound like a computer beep if your computer is having some hardware problem.

Check out the followings:

1) Battery – Possible to be dry cell with low battery level sound indicator.

2) Low-oil-level/temperature indicator led is giving out the warning intermittent beep sound.

3) Check the electrical system for loose connections, short circuits and blown fuses.

4) Radiator cooling fan.

Otherwise, do bring your motorbike to an adequate mechanic to diagnose the beeping sound for you.

Thanks alot nights,

I think I found the culprit, it's the number 4, Radiator cooling fan. It's not working.

Guess I have to bring to Rosli tmr.

Thanks guys, you guys have been really helpful.

dun be too sure .. the cooling fans only come on at a certain temperature. There is a thermo-switch that controls the fan ...

What Rosli did for me is left the bike running for 10 minutes to see if the cooling fans come on. Thankfully it works. If you don't want to test it, just change the switch.
