last week I went north, all the time full gas, speed around 100 - 115 km/h,

found that FC very high, traveled around 200Km then pump 7.5 L to topup the tank.

its about 26km/L, compare to normal road riding in Singapore 40km/h.

It proved, higher speed consume much more fuel.

hmmm..

but from wat i heard from cka mech roy he say best is to keep ur speed ard 90 to 100. if u pass 100 then its dragging liaoz..

so will drink petrol...

not sure lah..

coz i usually travel max 100..... and my fuel con is abt 34-36km/l(wif pipe mod)

No unless you did a series of modification like mine which can tolerate full throttle and achieve low fuel consumption at the same time but do note that city riding will result high fuel consumption due to the inconstant throttling.

Thanks for all the advice :cheeky:

If I modify my pipe, the fuel efficiency would be better but wouldn't this mean illegal modifying?

Does cka provide the legal modifying of pipe?

not exactly illegal lah..

juz as long the modded pipe is stock and the sound not too loud it doesnt really matter...

Thanks again manowar,

I've called cka today and the engineer at bukit batok workshop quote me $295 for mod left pipe and $390 for both pipes.

It's exp loh  May I know is this the usual price for changing pipe?

Another MAGMA Rider here!!! wah seh... how come all your magmas drink so much gas???? my FQ black magma's consumption is usually around 36km/l... i even managed 39 km/l before... i do mainly long distance cos i stay bedok and my camp at tuas... (Serving ns)

not too sure about u guys but i change my drive rings... both front and back... my front is 16 teeth and back is 44 or 46... less power initially but definitely can cruise quietly n little vibration at 100km/h and maintain good consumption.... i always hit 300 before hitting reserve tank... :cheeky:

Hmm.... I still don't get it.

My bike's parts are all original, it appeared that all ex-owners did not make any modification to it. I asked a mechanic which I visit frequently and he said it's like this, magma's consumption is ard 30 km/hr.

Now I'm sure it isn't as all of your fuel consumption is way efficient than me, think I'll go down to cka to do a full check one of these days.

By the way, a friend recommends me to buy a fuel saver. Do any of you recommend this? It costs ard $50.

Hi growingup

from my understanding, 30km/l is a bit high in FC, I usually got 38-40km/l,

only once went to Malaysia running with full speed (~110km) all the time

then FC become high, but normal road in Singapore should get 38 - 40km/l

for me I only put a magnet mounted on the fuel line. but did not find any

differen in FC between mounted or unmount the magnet. except little bit better in pickup.

By the way do you rev. the engine all the time? I usually kick to 5th gear before 55-60km.

Hmm.... Usually I kick up to 5th gear at 70 km/hr. Most of the time I travel ard 85 ~ 100 km/hr.

How many magnets did you put at the fuel line? They are bought from the Ang Mio Kio guy rite?

Try to kick to 5th gear below 60km/h, you may save a bit of fuel.

same to me, I usually traveled around 85-100 on express way.

I have mounted 2 magnets to the fuel line, which is from the old hardisk.

you can feel the different after you have mounted the magnets.

engine seem smoother with better pickup.
