US get FZ6R. Europe and SG is called Diversion F. Same specs, different name.

 

ASphoon is selling the diversion F. Full fairing. & yes r6 like exhaust

Hi guys. Am riding FZ1S. Haven't been riding it for 2 weeks, but I start and warm up my bike every 2 days at least. Today morning when I tried starting but it failed on me. Battery since May 2011. Anyway to start the bike up and running other than changing battery?

u can always push start it. sooner or later u got to change battery also...

 

anyway warming up the bike isnt the effective way of charging the battery in a long run.

With such a heavy machine it's gonna be tough to push start.

On a side note, any technique on push starting this heavy machine?

 

1) Find a slope. If cant, get a friend to help

2) Sit on the bike

3) Turn on the key to "On position".

4) Gear must be in gear 2 not neutral **Note at any point of time do not press the engine on button**

5) Clutch in and begin to push the bike and pick up some speed..around 5-10km/h?

6) When u find that u have sufficient speed, let go the clutch and twist the throttle hard!

7) If fail, repeat step 3-6 until u succeed.

 

anyway cheapest battery available now is from LAB. less than 100 can get and it lasted me 1yr 4-5 months plus?..suggest u ride there and replace the battery asap. if u keep on push start, will damage ure coil, battery, start motor, relay and well u get the picture...

sian hope my batt wont fail. met into an accident and fractured my arm, front brake not working at all amongst other problems and scratches. bike probably gonna be unridden for 2-3mths..

ah......7 years on the road....finally got stopped by LTA....5 days before i was due to change bike...

akra without silence....finally went for the tedious 3 in 1 inspection since buying in 2010...

1st deliberate fail inspection; fail cos no silencer. noise at revs still within legal limits so failed simply missing silencer. took photos.

2nd pass inspection; put back silencer. legalise the pipe. pass inspection n co2 emmissions(mine decat!). took more photos.

3rd inspection; paperworks to inform LTA pipe is legal n had passed inspection.

half a day gone... pipe is no longer according to cert spec btw...

now wait for letter come then appeal based on statement given to LTA officer...

I wonder does our bike charge the battery while idling? I know some bikes do that.

If fz1 cannot do it, that means must ride around then can charge the battery alr...

I got into an accident in July also, didnt get my bike back till 2 months later... But battery no problems... Only after weeks of riding then battery died.. =/

I think no point trying push start, I've tried it and decided not to anymore, too heavy. even with friend helping doesn't mean sure can. Push till hands shiver still no use. even tried jump start with car battery but cannot. so mean battery completely dead. Think call for tow better ah

1) Most battery have a life of no more then 24months after activation..(i.e add water for some), shelf live also not long. So please consider to replace it after more than 18 months. Prevention is better than cure.

2) Once you started the engine, charging is there, which means idling does too.

3) Good battery will hold for months...which means if your bike lay for 2-3 weeks, your bike should start.

4) Running for 10-15mins wouldn't help in charging on todays bike as our head light is on at this same time..this will cancle out your charging. Instead it drain more power with short running..

5) If your bike wourldn't start after only 2-3 weeks, a few possible reason:

a) Batter aged, spoiled..not holding enough power in it.

b) There is a leak in your system...electicity is used un-noticely..rusted terminal, modification, alarm etc.

c) Short charging time...especially obvious for old battery.

6) If you want to store you bike for longer time, please remove the terminal completely from the battery and insulate it with tape....you need to do rust proofing else where too...

 

I hope this help...this sorely on battery not on rectifier, regulator...that play a part too...

Hi guys, thinking wanna change to a fz8n soon. Will it be better for me to get a fz1 instead. What's the power different n resale value? As up to date fz1 had not got a new face lift or major change since 2006. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance
