I've just collected my new fazer 600 today.

 

I have a few questions:

 

1) I still do not have any documents with me, my IC, the insurance, log card, road tax disc all not with me. Bike production say they will call me to collect them next week. They say the receipt of bike purchase is enough if asked by police in the meantime etc. Is this legal and ok?

 

2) Also I must pay the first installment next week liaoz. Last time I bought bike from ASPhoon, they allow me to ride 1 month first before paying the first installment. Is this normal?

 

3) They say the bike is Heong Leong bike. There is a hong leong sticker on the bike, but I don't get any "warrenty" card. Is there one? How long is the warrenty?

 

4) I am told to ride at around 70-80km/hr until the first oil change, the rpm will be around 4000-5000 correct?

As long as your licence is with you stating that you have the correct class, should be sufficient. Should have asked the shop to write a notice stating that all your official documents are with them for transaction

What Hong Leong bike???... All Yamaha bikes from HL, right... Anyway the warranty is 3 months or 5000km, whichever comes first...

Look into your user manual, should be stated there... Anyway make sure you get your original tool kit as well... this is located under your seat... if not, **** the shop upside down and tell them to wake up...

For your pt 1, that's normal.

 

Pt 2, that depends on the agreement between you & the bike shop's offers but mostly for the month you took your bike, you dont have to pay.

 

Pt 3, you should get the user's manual & the warranty booklet when you get your bike. Maybe they will give it to you together with the insurances & other documents.

Warranty, if I'm not wrong is 6000km or 1 yrs, whichever come 1st. But normally it's 6000km in about the 1st few mths, then bo liao.

 

Pt 4, Well, recommended is that speed & rpm. I also go according to that. Anyway, just for your info, the user menu stated do not go beyond 7000 RPM. So as long as you're below 120km/h it's very save.

bro,

 

it's correct, temperature when travellin in singapore is usually mid way of the scale, when it jumps up one scale, the fan will start. that will be frequent cos of the hot weather or when u r stuck in taffic

 

they will give u the warranty card when they pass u the insurance. it's as what moka mentioned, first 6000km or first 6 mths whichever comes first. Ah shui sold u the bike rite?

Yap. Normal is 3 bar in the day. 2-3 bar during cool night. 4 bar during jam & damn hot weather or slow speed riding. Dont be surprise if you see 5 bars during jam

I think the installment thingy, you better call them to confirm. My friend's bike just got tow back after 2 mths due payment & bike production charge towing for $150! Where normally towing is $20-$25. Plus it wont be a nice scene to see your brand new fazer's handle lock being screw out & hanging there when you collect your bike.

Oh ya, last point, it will be better that you get the user manual 1st to read as I got mine on bike collection day, though insurance & other documents are not ready.

best way to prevent any unnecessary towing is to pay up on time every mth

 

u shd have the manual under ur seat when u collect from bike production.

5 bar ah, i have yet to see that yet. usually when it's hot 4 bar. sometimes when waitin at a junction under hot weather, i'll even shut off the engine for a while cos i knw it'll take a while till the traffice lights turn green.

Cause ka na in a jam, move a bit stop cause ka na some car close up the gap or car changing lane. Then move & stop for quite awhile till I see 5 BAR!
