The main differences to me are cosmetic.

'07 have gold forks, black engine while the '08 have grey engine and black forks.

Apparently, a grey colour is available for '08 and it replaces the teal tech and ocean depth blue of the '07.

Also claimed, are some changes in the mapping.

If there is anything I have left out, someone pls enlighten.

I probably not too fussy about color and minor cosmetic changes. But of course if the price is significant, only then i'll mind.

Yup, price diff. is about $500.

Hong Leong is throwing in the $1200 fairings for their final teal tech '07 model.

If you dont want the fairings, I believe they will drop the price at least $500.

Price wise i'm sure there will be at least a $500 bucks difference.

$500 bucks not too significant. Its okie lah... but can save save lor... for petrol... or even a gift for the wife, to appease her since she gave a green light to buy a new bike...lol

we're talking about serious vitamin M here.

they must be at least 44L and colour coded too right?

The estimated price of the OEM panniers is arnd $2.4k the last time i asked . The panniers r those from the FJR which costs arnd $1.7k . The panniers should be arnd 35L .

Anyway , the Givi V35 is a good alternative at $1k .

$2.4 compared to $1k is daylight robbery.

That's why i didn't bother to go to HL for the mineral change. Since Oil Filter is chargable and a litre of mineral is like dirt cheap. If you can't wait for 2 or 3 weeks or can't follow their strict timing, just go to any shop and get it done @ around $30 bucks. :thumb:

I'm not sure about what Yamaha's booklet is saying but i did changed my Oil Filter for all my Oil Change so far until now. Here's a comparison of HL with outside any shop:

HL Free Oil Change

Oil Filter - Need to pay ($20 bucks i think, can't remember)

Mineral Oil - FOC

Total - $20 bucks?

Any shop outside

Oil Filter - $15

Mineral Oil - $15 ($5 bucks per litre)

Total - $30 bucks

I prefer not to be restrained by the strict timing and date they give. Mine was like 10.55am on a Wednesday or a Thursday. So they kinda expected me to take half a day off my work just for their free oil change.

The last time i went they did some adjustment on the timing n i dun tink other bike shop will do it for me. Do u hav any recommendations on which bike shop will do a proper check on my bike witout me gettin shaved off unnecssarily

Check timing? I dunno man, but i know just make sure bike dun sound weird, everything runs smoothly then it should be fine. If you are so worried then you go to HL and tell them u want a higher grade oil lar. Say you dun mind paying. I'm sure they have higher grade oil.
