guys, wats the plus points/advantages for changing of levers har. eg like bro fir_chan is using Shorty Pazzo Levers.

Changing to aftermarket levers helps to reduce weight.

Weight of the wallet that is.

I changed my levers out of vanity!! I feel the shortys are prettier (black and red adjusters) !!! wahahhahaha... but feels faster/shorter clutch in to engage and dis-engage... but could be all in the mind....

But there are so many types out there that can fit to many other functionality and "personal excuses"

Personally, i like the RSV if i used the longer levers as it has a nice "break away" function and the RSV is printed nicely on the front.

There is also CRG, Titax, Pazzo and of course the Yammy break away lever....all also swee swee.....

But u buy.... u happy..... u mod.... then u realise its all in the mind....

So what if that sticker gives you +1hp??? Do i really need it??

ur fingers take shorter time to reach the levers

Not really... but i have bad riding habit of shifting with 2 or three fingers and not ALL fingers like what the riding centre teaches....

Lousy technique i guess.... bad habit...:pity: :pity:

If you ever buy a BMW GS, let me know. I'll be glad to give you a present to celebrate your new ownership of a prestigious marque.

A new pair of platform shoes, just for you, Sir. :D :D

Now you can ride it with confidence. :p

Morning Y'all!!!!

Test rode my "new" bike yesterday!!! I love it!!! Just a lil more tweaking and it should work out well for me!!

I know for sure i need to send it back for a look at the front and rear brakes/lines.

Went to Melaka and it was touch and go....left home at 530am.... top up at GP Esso and started towards Melaka... stopped at Pagoh and had a mini breakfast... and discovered the lines were leaking brake fluid at every pump of the lever!!

So rode towards Melaka using very little of the brakes and just down shifting and tapping on the rear...if coz i rode slow...

Got to Melaka and looked for a hardware store to look for a right sized allen key.... we brought along everything we needed for any emergency except a right sized allen key for the steel brake lines!!

Found a store and pretended to try the allen key in the right size so we can "buy" but of coz never had the intention of buying it...... tightened the lines but it did not budge!!! It is secured well and no chance of leakage..... so i was sian 1/2 and had our early brunch of Wan ton noodles and siew pau (siew Pau was damn good!!)

We headed back at around 1030am from Melaka, riding slow and it was PISSING RAIN after Machap till we exited the NS highway............ got to Gelang Patah at about 1245pm... of course went for a nice bike wash since it havent got one in like 3 weeks!!!!

Now...today's agenda to get the bike back to the shop to get them sort out the brakes/lines.....

Got home at about 245pm... and slept like a baby!!

Oooh. Finally you got your bike back.

So what's the total bill?

Bike wash.... ahhh...this one must bring you... really good place.... in Gelang Patah!! Or you follow directions as i posted this afew time liao... especially in the SFC Board....

Brakes untouched... just changed to Venhill SSBH.... dunno why leak at the joints.... and brake fluid is almost empty now.

Thinking of the Brembo... but must resist... dun want to blow 500 at the moment... and i like my Shorty Pazzo Levers!!

Yes yes.. Let's go for a wash. I passed by the GP wash yesterday, but since the day was wet... well.. fucckit! :p

My bike is dirty. But I'm too lazy to wash.

Outsource... :p

oi, if ure slow and unskilled, then what am i??? :pity:

on previous bikes, i felt the brakes starting to fade very quickly only at the track or 20mins or so of very hard and intense braking that nearly locks the front wheels. the lever starts to feel like it has no effect on slowing down liao and it gets rather scary.......

tiger came with SSBH stock and so far so good with repeated rapid slowdowns.

i think the ABS will cut in before i manage to fade the brakes??

was told nissin and brembo are very similar configuration, floating discs, radial mounted calipers, one more expensive than the other due to the branding??

TBH, the stock brakes on our bikes are already sufficient for our skill levels. ;)

Not many can say that they've ridden their bikes to the limit.

On the R1, everything was stock. Brakes, brake pump, damper, rims, rearsets, exhaust system, suspension. Only the tyres were "modded" LOL. To me, there's only one thing that will affect my confidence in riding that biatch hard, and that's the tyres. Gotta have the best of it.

That was why I threw out the stock Pilot Road within 1 hour of getting the bike in favor of Pilot Power 2CTs. The brakes, brakelines, air filter.... all can take a backseat. Let them be abused for 1 year, then they'll be candidates for change. :p

Total bill?? Wah i never check... but so far....definately enough to cover.

About 1800bucks but all taken care of..... and also installed my toys....

So took the chance to do almost everything... left over to use for my car....

Yeah... you are right...

Ride till normal wear and tear then instead of getting back the stock... get the aftermarket ones.

Otherwise the stock also sitting at home. Waiting till u dekit..........

Hope to ride the bike longer now... until then.......

Haha... tell that to my battle-scarred Phantom 150.

I whack that little workhorse to hell. Now I can hear metal jingling sound in the crankcase. I figure the clutch housing or crankshaft is going to go one of these days.

9 months left on the COE before expiry. I hope the COE goes first, and not the bike's mechanical parts, in spectacular fashion.

Stock parts are actually pretty good already.

You can even lock the front tyres with the stock pump after all.

It's just that a Brembo will throw you over the bars a split second sooner. :p :P
