Maxima chain wax

I tried to use the size 10 ring spanner and turn anti clockwise but to no avail, the bolts refuse to 'budge' under my strength. One of the bolts was even slightly worn off by the spanner. There should be a total of 4 bolts to remove right? 2 at each side?

I opened and service my both side mirrors on a diy session on National Day with pichudot and Awin. pichudot lend me his wrench and it was quite easy to open all the four nuts. maybe u can invest in a good small set of wrenches first if u like to diy a lot. if not when we can meet up for a diy session at pichudot MSCP and i can help u with it.

one thing good of Maxima chain wax is that it does not fly off and stick onto you rear rim and i observed maybe after 3 to 4 days of riding, the chain become dry again. overall better than Maxima chain guard.:thumb::thumb:

kinda weird... stock nut for the mirrors are not that tight...

it should be pretty easy to take it out...

they do not comes with spring washer nor lock nut...

jus checking, hope u not turning to the wrong direction? ;)

btw, to those bros who wan to take out the mirrors, recommended to use a better tool cus stock tools sucks...

i only use the cross screwdriver to open the windshield once & will only use & keep the rear shock adjuster in hand nia...

sad to say the rest all like cmi...

1st day i already threw away the allen keys le cus they looks like super prone to rust and will start affecting other tools in the bag...

if u need help to open that, feel free to approach me and let's arrange a date & time... :)

Put ur bike on main stand. Spray WD40 onto the nut and let it rest for awhile so the oil can seep throu. Used a correct size opened spanner, if still difficult spray more WD40 or try to use hammer or mallet to knock the end of the spanner slowly or used ur palm. Maybe it's harden because of the rust or the factory torque is too tight. Try first and share the after success

btw BottleCap, if u have quality tools, you also must be quality screws & nuts so that they can work well together...

no point having quality tools but your screws & nuts are low quality ones cus u will still round the screws and nuts off...

so, have u changed all your screws to titanium screws? :D

how many times will you be touching those high torque-ed screws?

i think most probably once or twice in the life perhaps...

i presume most of the times u will send your xiao hei to your fav mechanic / technician to do them right?

duhz! you weight-weenie ar? titanium screws, prone to metal-seizure and breakage. and the price.. :faint:

there are no low quality screws, only improper usage of tools.

i din know titanium screws are not better than normal stainless screws cus i nvr used them before...

for me, stainless steel screws are good enough...

hence i said good screws & nuts & tools are good enough...

so i guess u also have a set of super duper quality tools?

FYI, rounded screws are generally easier to remove than a rounded allen-head bolt.

Correct i agree that with gd quality tools it would be gd if u change to gd quality screws. Changing to high quality stainless steel screws can liao le need titanium screws meh? :sian: very expensive le :D

But if gd tools the chances of rounding is much lesser le, anyway a gd pair of tools can last u a long way if u maintain it. Somemore u don only use the tools on bike ma alot of other places also can use :)
