hi . everyone ~ mostly will be getting myself a fazer after my TP =) wanted to get a 1st hand but what is the diff abs and w/o abs .

s and n model . which would bro here recommend . thks =DD

i'm riding a FZ1 '09 ABS version. basically the difference is it has the ABS system which will not allow any tyres locking when you break hard. when you break hard, the system will control ur brake to make it a tapping effect instead of locking fully the caliper to the disc. it's a good system n the price diff is around 1k i think but bear in mind that for ABS version, you can't change the fancy brakelines like HEL or others cos 1) it will cost a bomb as it has like nearly 10 brakelines, 2) not much mechs are willing to do it.

 

for the diff of S n N, the S=Sport version which has a half-fairing mounted. good for touring n look sporty. the N=Naked, more like a streetfighter, rugged type without any fairings. the other diff that i noticed is that the tail for N version is shorter n without the holding bar on it whereas the S version is a bit longer with bars on it.

for those who are talking n thinking of converting to HID projector headlights, i have an ex-colleague and he went back to the US after his contract finished. when he went back, he bought an FZ1 and he did this project as well. over there, there are no limits of modification as it's not really controlled n with surplus n availibility of parts, nothing is impossible.

FZ1 weight is slightly more towards the front, hence the rear will lock up easily even when you brake lightly on a wet road..

 

how to counter it? ride more and learn to feel the lock up..

Stock is good...Choose your weapon wisely and enjoy it...you can have all the $$$$ to mod and in the end you can't make full use of it....
