Bros, need ya advises..wat r the symptoms of rectifier going faulty...my volt meter givin me wierd reading lately..before I crank volt reads 11.7..batt seems normal..but upon ignition..voltage rapidly go up to13+ within 5sec..b4 tis it will usually increase gradually before stabilizing at idle voltage of 13.7...the other ting is when bike is on idle at traffic light voltage is only 13 now..only when I rev it will go up to 13.3...anybody can share a thought...

Nwy I'm ridin a fz1 and its abt 3.5yrs old..nvr had voltage prob b4

It will go up to 13.3...today idling drop to 12.8..hai..v fishy..

 

try check your battery first.. it looks week or spoil or going to spoil..

 

from what i see, your rectifier is working but i not sure if it's working at its full functionality..

 

your should roughly get the following:

 

power on bike w/o crank start: 12-12.5 V

idling: 13++ V

on the move: 14-14.5 V

I think Mr Pichudot has advised before.

 

You can remove the battery from under the petrol tank and bring the battery to bike shop for charging.

 

But then, the battery may not last and you may have to change it eventually.

Wx, like Seahmh have mentioned, you can remove the battery and bring it to bikeshop to charge or replace it since you have already lifted the tank to reach to the battery.

OR tow your bike to bikeshop and have the battery charged/replaced.

OR get someone near you to jump start your bike for you to get to bikeshop. ikea (queenstown branch) is your backyard? someone stays near queenstown.

OR push start your bike. (all my bike i push start before, only my current bike i am not able to do so, sad to say.)

Seahmh, u wrong le, u got the wrong master i guess.. lol..

i never tell people to take out the battery & bring to bike shop to charge if their battery is dead..

anyway, like what Seahmh & dragonforce had said, u can bring it to bike shop to charge but if u know how to replace ur battery, i recommend u just go buy a new battery outside and come back to fix and go.. no need to let towing company & bike shop to earn this monie..

 

or, u can push start your bike and ride over to buy a new battery & get it replace immediately.. good luck..
