i agree with the side panniers. it's hard to squeeze at times like my bike. I have the side panniers and my fz6 is wider than a ST11

 

but bo bian, the side panniers really compliments fz6 and fz1 in terms of looks as compared to the top box. if not get a tank bag, but that's troublesome cos u have to carry it around if whenever you park. anyway it's up to individual preferences, i'm the type that dump everything in the box, having 2 side panniers help
