i've had 2 automatic seiko divers watch more than 10 yrs ago. both broke down within a few years. I've had it with Seiko! But i must say from Sev's pics that the design is nice indeed.

the omega speedmaster has a rich history as it is still the only watch ever worn on the moon.

recent models are very colourful so as to appeal to the masses....

nice GMT. my review on my 114270 explorer 1 is actually that it's everything i want it to be, i'm wearing it everyday as a beater. it's an understated (no gold, no diamonds, no bling-bling), smallish (36mm, for a gents watch) and solid watch which doesn't scream rolex even though it is. fact that it's stainless steel makes it easier to maintain. only problem i have is that the bezel is polished steel, which means it shows up scratches. also, the crystal is raised above the level of the bezel, which means you can potentially smack it against a door frame or some hard surface, and even though it's sapphire crystal, it's still going to chip if whacked hard enough. other than that, it's an extremely handsome little chap.

it keeps excellent time for an automatic, i'm used to having to adjust my previous mechanical watches up to 5 minutes a month, but this one's not been adjusted since i first set it maybe 2 1/2 months ago. there've been some scathing reviews of the old 14270, but the new 114270 seems to be weathering public opinion extremely well (uses a different movement from the 14270), there's quite a demand for it.

The Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Automatic was my first "expensive" watch which I bought in 1996. It has quite a timeless classic look which till today is often replicated. The later designs dont appeal to me, they are simply designed to feed the mass markets.

I have since pass that Omega to my dad 5 - 6 yrs ago after his watch broke down.

The Explorer I has always been understated becos of its plain looks. It's still a classic in its own right.

The watch is own by a Singapore watch collector I met in a watch related gathering, not a friend of mine in the real life but a virtual friend in a watch discussion forum. The owner of the watch wear this watch on a daily basis, imagine the collections kept in the safe.
