Hey all,

 

 

Tested continuity.

using $13.50 multimeter from xyz hardware shop. light blue wire at ks connector to dark blue wire at ecu input. Continuous.

 

Reset the ecu.

saw the "...continous blink....ecu has been reset.." started it up. kept it "... above 2500rpm for more than 10secs.." Still came on. still ks.

 

So..

went and got a new knock sensor. $92 from FJT at Rowell road. says part no; 30530-??. cant remember. dont have it with me now.

 

Will install it and reset the ecu this Saturday.

 

Hope it doesn’t reach the part where it says "…25 still blinking --> replace ecu then test it AGAIN…"

 

this sunday carrying the x-11 flag loud and proud... or slow and porky..

P.S;

during the last fiddle with the bike seesion, kind of broke the LHS mirror. yup. dont ask. anw, currently using mirrors from my kriss cup kia. they actually look half decent.

did anybody ever try to relocate the ks? thinking of doing it differently. maybe silicon the ks slot, or an extender for the slot (mount the ks higher) or wrap in damping material and mount it elsewhere..

 

any ideas?

saw in th cbrxx.com forum, a sectional view of the ks. Its piezo electric.

 

that’s the same as quartz watch movement.

 

have to hand it to honda, sometimes utterly brilliant

 

in watches, battery provides electrical signal to crystal which vibrates and produces movement.

 

ks works in the opposite.

 

pinging, or knocking from the engine vibrates crystal which produces electric signal which notifies ecu, "..hey knocking!"

 

have to hand it to honda, sometimes utterly rubbish.

Y dun u fix a resistor between the blue wire..300 Ohm if i'm not wrong.Did read out that some of them even put the ECU upsidedown and Wallaa..the 25 blinks is gone.Tried it but to no avail.Some even put a rubber O-ring on the KS-reason is to absorb the vibration.....

theres an idea.

 

300ohm resistor. what kind of mount? presumably in series? then where to connect the other end of the resistor?

 

upside down ecu? sounds like merlin the magician or gandalf the grey kind of cure.

 

who knows? Maybe there are some parts inside the ecu shorting things. turn in upside down and they dont touch..

 

stranger things have happened.

 

Did i ever tell you guys about the time my z1000 had a hairline cracked fuse?

 

HAIRLINE FRICKIN CRACKED FUSE fo gawdsakes. it was frame nounted. vibes cracked it. killed the bike. couldnt start. Checked it visually only. looked ok. moved on to check everything. EVERYTHING. My fault. left it sitting for weeks. Buddy came over with his multimeter. FIRST THING he did, checked the fuse. there it was. I nearly went mental....

Well..as long as u get 300 Ohm(in series) shud be ok.

U need to splice it.1 end attached to KS,the other end to ECU.

what are the chances of there being 2 guys riding the similar full black bike, working for st, coming from italy, n they both look alike? quite commom apparently eh?

 

have to meet up soon for the cd. Planning on stripping the harness tape up soon just to see if everything underneath is nice and orderly. if it still is, then maybe an electrical alternative. ie bypass wires or even a fashion a diy tre.? this bike must pull like it should!

 

actually it already pulls like a train. sometime forget lah....wtf am i complaining about?

bro, if a pc3 unit can solve the blinky issue, then count me in. No joke. Sounds like a cheaper option than an ecu swap.

yo, i dun think a PC will will resolve the Blink Blink issue. better check first then buy cos i understand that Roger who has a PC unit, still suffer a 9 blink which is the ignition sensor problem. so theoratically i should say it will not help...

 

For me, my sensor as you know is ok, but 2 days ago, another problem occurs. now my fuel indicator is permanently lighted. and i confirm that the fuel in my tank still got ...
