Cant find Y125z CDI, so go Ah boy buy, told him I wanted original, he says OKOK, send me to his workshop at Geylang lor 23, workshop mechanic test my bike, confirm its CDI spoil, when I'm not watching, the Malaysian mechanic quickly change my CDI.

I realize he had changed my CDI when I reenter the working area again, it doesn't look new. He claims its new, a recon unit, demand that I pay $50 plus a new plug.

I told him, my plug just changed two days back and I never told ah boy I wanted to change plug, he said my plug turn black, i told him to show me, he says dunno where he left the plug. %$%$@^

becareful if you use ah boy mechanic, very dishonest nowadays.

Never trust a motortiam 100%, especially small ones.

these is no point in cheating me, bec the money goes to ah boy, the only reason they are cheating me is they are also cheating ah boy. The CDI, most probably a second hand one from dunno where, and the plug, maybe excess from inventory.

This is an enterprise way of maximising profit during the 70s - 90s in Singapore, you employ this trick at 2013, your business won't survive long.. Real sad most motortiam are managed by low educated people and at least half of them will definitely disappear within the next 20 years.

They can send everyone threatening "remove post or sue" letters but this letters also only works on those hooligans chaps who think the laws will always pick on them for no reason. And if at the case when the shop really wants to sue, i'm really curious to see if they will win if they happen to meet a consumer who prepare all his evidence ready with a lawyer of himself.

There are many other dishonest mechanics in our land here actually. The other day i sent my scoot for some minor service. I noticed they will take certain amount of petrol from customers bike and keep it in case. another will keep the excess engine oil and coolant . they dont give back to the customers. some customers will feel aiyah so little. but to them its a lot because when they top up altogether it can fill a bike.

please be inform that individual do not fear of being sue ....especially if your are in your right situation..... this is why..

All company Must engage a Lawyer in order to sue anyone ....be it an another company or an individual.....

However an individual need not engage a Lawyer ... you can represent yourself ,,,,,,this usually put off any Company potential possibility due to economic of cost vs the Court Case unless... they have a lot to gain ...mostly in money terms....and in that they must weigh the cost of the Legal fee too .....so no worries my fellow Rider Bro

earning a living is earning a living, but earn a honest living can? if the instructions is from the boss, I lan lan, if the actions is from the worker himself, i prefer him to earn a living elsewhere, not within any workshop I might patronise.

To me, it's either tat mechanic is really dishonest or there is some miscommunication issue. Hence, we can't simply jump to conclusion tat the Malaysian mechanic is dishonest.

As wat forummers here said, talk to ah boy to resolve it. In the future, if not familiar with the shop, better stay there n observe them servicing ur bike.

I've also been to this workout, don't feel very comfortable there. Was sent there by ah boy when I bought a sprocket from him and he said they could install it for 5 bucks. As its my first bike and I don't have a regular workshop, I went anyway. Would not go there for bigger/more expensive bikes.

My fellow riders, dont bcos the other say negative things about LAB, you also follow to throw accusations towards them.. Every shop has their own ups and downs.. This is business, my friends.. Maybe you're just unlucky enough that you happen to come when they are not performing at their top level. So far, I have received great service with reasonable cost. Cheers!

There are thousands of riders and out of thousands, probably a few thousands go LAB. I wish there is a poll where people just vote. but of course must have enough people to vote.

I must say that when it comes to sourcing of parts, Ah Boy has no equal in my opinion. He will make a few phone calls (whilst mid-conversation he will talk about the government, laws or anything under the sun, thus testing my patience) and voila! He has found your much needed parts.

However, I don't trust the mechanics after an incident. Whilst changing the tyre for my old Blackbird, the mechanic told me that my wheel bearings needed change and showed me new NTN bearings which he had at hand. He kept on harping on about how good the wheel bearings were, thus justifying it's $35 price tag. In front of him, I called Ah Boy and the fella panicked. Ah Boy told me that the bearings were $12. I gave the mechanic a "WTF" look and told him to get on with installing my tyres. That was the last time I used their workshop services.

However, I still patronize Ah Boy to get accessories like helmets and such. And don't you just love his ultra raspy voice???!?

haha ultra raspy voice. Thats a good one bro. To TS usually if you want brand new parts for your bike you should have stayed there until the dispatcher bring you the CDI. And usually Ah Boy gets his Yamaha original parts from Automachinery which is just across the road. And Ah boy sells cheaper than Automachinery! (Dunno how he make money! hehe) Been there done that with my RXZ and YBR and my friends 125z etc. But of course I pay for the parts and go to my personal mechanic to make the replacement.
