Hi, I juz got my riding licence and am soon to be the proud owner of a slamming new bike. Problem is, can't decide between the Aprilia RS125 and the Varadero 125. Wat do you guys suggest?

both bikes are so different in characteristics, why in the first place, these 2 bikes?

the only similarity is that both are big looking bikes.

I don't claim to know that much. But... are you going to upgrade after a year of owning this bike? If you are, maybe you should think of other models as these 2 bikes are quite costly as compared to other bikes of its class (especially a Varadero).

Of course, if cost is not an issue to you, then I guess it's alright to splurge a little more!

Maybe you can start asking yourself this... Decide on the type of bike you like first... Do you like scramblers, sports bikes, street bikes or maybe even kups??

Biking is something that everyone can learn and enjoy! :goodluck:

Varadero is mainly 4 touring. Bike can last u up to class 2 unless u wanna change when u get 2A. new Vara 07 cost around 13K. Sell after 1 year not so worth it. Riding wise I guess very stable but max speed at most 120-140 depends on ur bike. Not fast pick up but good enough. Fuel consumption 22-25L again on ur riding style... Anymore vara bros

Aprilia got to ask the rest. but sports bike high FC n maintainance. No offense eh sport biker bros :)

though both are class 2B bikes, its not worth comparing side by side...

try making your mind decide sports or touring....

then we can move on from there... as much as i'm concerned, i love both.. haha

With the correct carb tuning done for the type of riding a person does, you can achieve a relatively good FC.

My FC for a 1st hand RS125 hit the 28km/litre mark while there are others currently in the aprilia forum that could hit 32km/litre.... so it all boils down on what you use the bike for. ie Commuting or sport riding.

Vara125 is an outstanding bike. You can mount boxes everywhere and it will still look good. There are plenty of after-market parts and accessories to pimp up your bike, not sure if that's a plus point. One very important point which many fail to consider when choosing a bike, it's the bike specify community.

The Vara125 are known as "Outriderz" , and they are a very active bunch. They meet up at least once a week, and have many trips planned in 2007. Collectively they have a wealth of knowledge and experience with vara125, and they are always willing to share. Although many have upgraded to bigger bikes, their vara125 spirit still very much alive within. No one is an outsider among the Outriderz.

never heard bout tank overheat....not even close hearing the vara overheat

even travelling above the thin red line for 15 hours do not even trigger the radiator fan...

it's best to listen to the guys who owns a vara for quite some time...

hadie >>> with a bit more playing with the half clutch...u can feel the pick up of the bike...

there's a few selling on the garage sale, do a search and u'll find some...hope they are still for sale...
