If that's the case then no choice. Haha

I hope that wont void the warranty. I believe triple cylinder bikes are new to PI workshops.

Now am just waiting for the more touring friendly MT-09F (Fairing version), or even better still the TDM-09!!! Haha!!!

Just did first servicing today at HL. I thought it's gonna be free. I actually had to pay $55.50 for 2.66 ltr semi syn oil + oil filter.

Only labor is free.

If I knew, I'll probably go somewhere else.

Anyway, I'm getting used to the seat. My butt doesn't hurt anymore :D.

Will start to push the bike harder now.

Ride safely guys!

woah 2.66 litre only!

that is not alot for a class 2 machine.

what oil did they used? yamalube?

Regards,

kifakw

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car

and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.

Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall,

torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Yes, based on manual, 2.4l without replacing oil filter and 2.7l if you replace oil filter.

Probably yamalube, couldn't see what they use.

Fellow MT-09 riders. Seems like theres some issues with my MT(hope nothing Major).

Whenever I engage gear & still in full clutch, when I rev, the bike will be like wanting to jerk forward and making a weird sound, like a knock..something like 'tock'. Cant really figure where exactly but definitely engine area. Actually this has been quite sometime but its getting harder and louder man. Didnt really thought about it cause intially, thought it was normal when still running in. And the bike seems to slow down even harder now when close throttle, giving something like a sudden jerkiness. The level of the issue increases when the riding mode increases too. Im so stresssss. Did some research and seems like europe side are facing diff issue but not major..something about their cam tensioner which I seriously have no idea what the heck is that.

Anyone facing same issue as mine??

Hopefully tomorrow can get half day then can go HL :(

Im making a wild guess - Could be transmission fluid problems, a worn clutch or cam/ timing belt lor. Not a mechanic here.... so dont take my words seriously. Haha!

Major or not, will be covered by warranty. It'll need a few days in workshop to fix it if need replace the clutch/ belt.

A cam chain tensioner allows proper locked tension of the cam chain by avoid jumping of the chain because of failure of standards tensioners. This gadget gives the engine builder more accurate engine timing, enhancing and confidence in knowing the tension is locked properly. The tensioner is developed in pre anodised colours depending on the model and its capacity.

it's a very small piece of metal only

BTW, how's the temperature while riding the MT-09, during hot sun timing and traffic jam kind?

kifakw

@Fariel, I haven't had any problem at all so far.

Hope yours will get fixed soon.

Thanks all for ur inputs..really hope its nothing major especially anything to do with engine. Hopefully HL can settle it like a breeze ~

as for @kifakw the temperature was a hindrance for me initially as its my 1st cls 2 bike, think am getting used to it. Believe its not as heaty as R6. Tested during jam too at checkpoint for ard 1 hr+-, that was quite annoying..ahha. The other thing is, seems to only feel the heat on the left side and it blows below ur thigh area.

Aite, am trying to sleep not thinking bout the bike..ahha. Night all!

managed to go to HL just now and was convince that it was normal after running in. took them almost 3 hrs of convincing though..lol.

So, 2 mechanics rode it, the 1st agreeing with the 'tock' sound whenever rev in full clutch while cruising but no idea what its about, so the second tried and agreed on the sound too and told me that the distance between the spocket and clutch is big, thus giving that 'tock' sound & jerkiness when rev while cruising. Only remedy he can provide was longer freeplay which somehow did lessen the 'tock' a bit. Well, for the meantime..dont wanna think much about it. Hopefully will get use to this jerkiness.

Anyway, enq about the MT-09 flyscreen too, need to order and place 50% deposit..ard 1 mth. Price: $195

it sure is annoying. believe this is the jerkiness as per most reviews mentioned. if this cant be rectified, this gonna be my most hated part of the bike. the 2nd part most hated would be the back splash, hopefully it'll be rectified once box installed.

Jerkiness from throttling ah? Its pretty normal for ride-by-wire technology. Afterall, its still in first-2nd gen tech. Still pretty new. Let it stabalize and see how! But if you want all the different riding modes, bo bian, need ride by wire lor instead of the normal throttle cable....

yeah, the jerkiness is actually not my main concern, its the 'tock' sound thats freaking annoying..making me feel unsafe.
