Which bike will you buy??

FS plate CBR929

VS

FS plate SV650

if price is the same... I would choose the SV. SV is a all rounder bike...

Can Cup corner at track, normal commuting in Sg road, I believed it has better milage compare to CB9, insurance is lower, SV power band is much suitable for Sg roads.

Rding CB9 at 90Km/hr in the expressway would be a major drag, insurance is higher...

OK I am biased toward Suzuki...

Wait till I can get a TL1000S at 3K then I sell you my SV at 3K heheh!

Its a cold hard facts, you cannot denied the market force, somemore singapore rider communuty is small compare to Ang Mo country. And with COE price falling, more riders are taking up cars.

riding a v-twin makes me luv road riding more.. i used to hear this statement in the past and now i understand wat it really means.. though i dun really like harley bikes or some of their riders, but it's a twin all the same and i understand y they enjoy it... no need to explain to those whom dun understand.

there is reality in market force of cos.. which is y we should educate others about wat our bikes can do.. (it's the same for every different model and make of bikes, there's definitely something u like about it... if not, buy for wat?). But to label our bikes unfairly in comparison to other streetbikes, common statements like "v-twin? no power one lah!", comes from those who have no idea of engine concepts and telling them to others, eventually with the blind following the blind.. things just get worse.. quite dumb.. really..

changing to cars? i guess tat's the limit of their passion for riding or they simply ride becos they cannot afford a car. Those whom gave up riding to start a family are different though.

counting down again to the final class of license..

The more I ride my SV, the less I care about going to the annual bike show and looking at new,

or expensive, or exotic machinery. I'm continuing to mod my bike into exactly what I want it,

and enjoying every mile I put on it.

TLS1000 is known to be a tankslapper, hardly see it on the road nowadays. I believe the price has dropped tremendously already.

The SV650 on classified ads has slashed price again, $3.5K now.

Btw you guys did the servicing of your SV yourself, from the SV650 website this bike is a pain in the ass to work on. That is another factor I would consider when getting a bike, because I prefer to do the reapir and serving myself than leave to shop.

Wat kinda servicing work u intend to DIY??

Change of EO is easy, even with full fairing.

Coolant flushing juz have to lift up the fuel tank.

Only thing is tt changing spark plug, have to tilt the radiator for the front cylinder.

Else, everything is easy.

Carbs are located juz below the airbox.

After lifting the fuel tank, can remove the airbox easily.

Carb synch?

How difficult would synch-ing 2 carbs be compared to 4 carbs??

I seriously want it too... But I seriously have no extra money to pay for the installment!

I paying a ~25yrs installment to MiniSteel...

I got a a pair of slider to loet go, some sliders are made for the naked SV650 version, these are unable to protect the fairing as they are too short (as pointed out by Slacker).

The Sliders consist 2 uneven length cylinder, the longer for Right (~120cm) , shorter for left (~80cm long). viewing from the top it should have about 1cm protusion from the fairing

SV650:

Can you tell me your slider's length?

Hi Limsteel,

Will check out and let you know over the weekend.

The carb syn is a piece of cake with the correct tools and instrument but the process of getting to the carb is more tedious compare to bandit or gsxr750.

SV650 carb syn
