SV has been proven to outrun a racer bike of bigger cc when on track at PG. I think it's R1 & F4i that smell smoke behind SV in a track session in early 2007 if I recall correctly. If you have time, buy Denden a cup of coffee and he will share this with you.

SV bikes can make it. It's the rider behind the machine on whether you dare to push the bike.

Surely good buy, my SV's running healthy at over 100,000km.

I've personally wrecked or ruin 3 bikes before the SV, so far my SV has been taking my abuses really well.

And to add, our SV650(that guy in the picture above) toured Northern Thailand with the bikey.

Not once, but twice.

Hi guys, may I know if the reason for the SV650/1k not being brought in was due to the emission standards or just the demand problem. Same for the kwak zzr600. Read good reviews on the bikes but all are not selling in SG.

Current looking for someone to take over my s4's touring duty. Wanted to get an sv400 before the s4 but just couldn't find one:(. The s4 is not happy sitting at high speeds for long periods of time....

Room clearance sale! Brand New Full Leather TPU glove for sale @ $40.

My guess would be the 'ungraceful' mouth of locals with simplistic comments like 'this brand cannot make it lah', 'parts very difficult to find', 'parts expensive', etc... and the one that i like best is ----> 'everyone riding this, sure good one' :thumb:

Just curious to find out.

How do you know your S4 is not happy sitting at high speeds for long period of time?

What is your definition of high speed?

I used to tour with 400cc (long time ago), Honda's NC23 engine. Very similar to the S4's NC29engine and I find them quite willling to hold on to speeds of 150-160km/h constantly.

I have to agree that a 400cc may not have enough power to perform quick over-taking on the highway and that may be the only issue with touring on a 400cc.

Hi Civic, firstly, my vtec is 8.5 years old now. After 2 trips with with stretches holding to 150-160 km/h for ~1 to 1.5hrs, changing engine oil no longer make the bike feel smoother. Done almost 60k kms in 2 years. Unless I do a full overhaul, the chance of it breaking down is quite highly given the high load during touring which is why I'm retiring it to commuter duty.

Go for sv650 or 1k, sv400 already stopped production, a pity though...

That is strange. The super4 engine should be bullet proof enough to withstand long distance touring.

If the engine does not feel smooth, it may not be a case of engine going to break down. MOst likely that carburators need some synchronising. An in-line 4 with out of synch carb will not feel smooth, no matter what you do to the engine.

iYou should try a parts shop, at Serangoon road, Opposite from ah boy across the main road if you just want to source for spares.

Alternatively, you can try ebay or bike forum overseas for parts if you cannot get it locally.

just wanna ask for some parts. They are the suzuki dealer right?
