you are supposed to stand by the bike and turn it ard using the side stand...

tat's all done in neutral mah...

hi guys..

i got a question.. if off topic I m so sorry.. if any1 can help will be deeply appreciated..

I m about to get my license soon.. but I got shocked by the insurance prices( i used the online quotation from one.motoring..) even the 3rd party go as far as 640 dollars!!

 

but can any1 clarify besides age and the year of license, what does the insurance price depend on? as in does the type of bike (sports, cruiser, scooter..) change the price that much? does it matter how old is the bike?

(btw I m 20, 3rd year ce student from computing, stay in bukit batok.. i noe that 20 is the most exp age..):cry:

regarding the insurance matter, it's undeniable tat the price is extremely steep for pple our age...

but for cls 2b a lot of bikes are accepted under NTUC income insurance...

which offers a good leeway for pple who dun want to pay a high insurance premium; by getting someone more senior preferably above 30 to be the owner of the bike and you being the sub-rider,

you can actualli get the insurance at a very much lower price...

 

and yes, the type of bike and the brand also affects the price of the premiums :smile:

eh you didn't do NS ah? :)

 

Anyway the lady at NTUC told me that the age of the bike also determines your premium.

 

Try Mitsui insurance. they're usually cheaper than NTUC.

 

What bike are u planning on buying anyway?

However, if you buang, then its the other person that will kena the insurance charges, so its quite difficult to find someone who is willing to help out.

 

If you want to reduce your insurance, stay away from fairing sports bikes like Aprilla, 150SP and KRR

what do u mean? means he need to pay for the insurance fee issit? In that case I will pay everything for him.. or do u mean some other charges?

 

how bout other sports bikes? are they not as exp to get insurance as aprilia, kips or sp?

Not only will he kena insurance fees..

 

his next year's fee will also rise, and he will loose his No-clain discount (which may be up to 20%).

 

This is because your insurance fee is also partly determined by whether you have previously made any claim, and the loading for prior claim is quite high.

 

Sports bikes in general (and fairing bikes more generally) have extra loading and so will be expensive.
