i dont recommend the shop near nus. only in desperate need then go there. haha. where u live? maybe we can recommend the better shops nearby ur place.

 

i stay marine parade there...heard planet at ubi is quite good..but ex.

definitely won't go back to asphoon where i bought my bike.

 

any opinions on what's wrong with my bike? yeah i need to find a shop that won't makan my money...cos i wanna do other mods too once this problem is solved.

yup. i saw u sometime at kr thread. hahax. i normally park at de canteen carpark, near lt5 tt canteen. cus i'm studying part time tt y hardly can see my bike ba. lolx. well, u can come join us aft u got ur bike, i'm sure there will be alot of outing organised ba. can learn alot of th. cus i'm still a noob. so must hang out wid those old bird den learn sth new frm them. hahax.

maybe they like u ba.. lol.. my fren got screwed big time at planets.. but everyone's personal experience differs so i cant tell u its bad either..

well. i agreed wid u. it depend on personal experience. but i have been servicing my bike at planet since i got my bike dis yr jan. de boss ah chong is a fun boss, sometime like to said "chi da bian" (eat ****), but he's overall a gd person even he's way of talking may provoke some ppl but not me. n he will help u rectify ur bike in a more affordable way. but queue for ur turn unless u wanna diy urself, jus like ytd, alot of ppl, den i ask ah chong for guidance how to change light bulb for my rear, he guided me n i change it myself, hahax. like tt dun nd to wait for so long. lolx. den got once is my kick gear tt pedal drop off half way on the road, den went to ah chong, he help me put in a temp screw n ask me go dwn ah boy to get de pedal. so i went dwn ah boy n purchased it, den went dwn planet again to find him, den he help me do widout ani wrkmanship payment. tt time was quite late somemore, going to close soon, but he still help me, but in de end i treat him drink. hahax. it's a courtesy. lolx.

or go around, some bike shops uncle will keep spare parts from bikes that they scrapped

Planet (Ah chong): For a cheap quick fixes. (I.e. tighten chain, Electrical thingys)

Bikeworks (Ah beng): For tuning issues/jettings setup or major servicing.

Unique motors: For cheap Engine Oil packages and parts/ Tyres included.

HKL (Bukit Merah): Cheap tyres

Lim Ah Boy: For cheap cosmetic parts/tyres/brake pads/helmets

Need opinion guys, recently i posted that my front disc brake are kinda warped.. the thing is.. skimming is a cheaper alternative with $35 per disc.. but several mech told me, dun jeopardise it.. coz if u wanna play track.. a thinner disc brake will not be as efficient.. n besides some mech do not noe how to skim correctly unless they send to those precision metal works..

 

So my next alternative is those flowery disc which cost about $100+ per disc.. but i'm sure the price is reflective of the quality..

 

OEM disc are out of the question, each disc goes way above $400 for each..

 

Any comments?? Skim or Buy flowery disc..

skim first and look out for good condition second hand discs, or those branded aftermarket "braking" or whatnot discs. The ah boy flowery discs are really crap.

yeah i wanna mod it to look more old skool...but before that i gotta solve my mechanical woes! and i think its gonna burn my wallet.

 

piston jammed barely a month into riding it, bike shop told me it's cos i ran out of EO. bullshit! it's 4 stroke, 1 month = impossible! anyway they did a free top overhaul and changed new piston for me but now the engine's damn noisy.

 

went to get a second opinion from the bike shop near nus (fragrance hotel there) and the uncle told me it's cos my oil pump isn't working properly, the top part isn't getting lubed hence the noise. says the piston could jam anytime again. how ah? i heard changing oil pump is gonna cost like 1k ):

 

Go to Planet to get it solved. Find Ah Chong directly. He usually can rectify problems.

Don't do HKL if your tyre pancit. Later kena chop like me hahahaha!

$15 for rxz tyre tube. The shell in front of my house chop me $13(I know its chop). HKL even chop me into finer pieces.

Eh can share ornot what happen to your friend? So far I heard good things abt Planet and not bad stuffs. Doesn't make a good GP essay. Must have both sides then reach conclusion = A*

go ks trading n check out their catalogue. see if got brake discs thats good and affordable.

Bikeworks is at Shunli Industrial Estate.. Kaki BUkit there...

 

If ure travelling in PIE towards Changi, exit bedok reservoir, first junction turn left.. go straight... u'll see an industrial estate to your right.. thats Shunli.. Find ahbeng.. try to go on weekdays as weekends, it'll be quite busy..

 

same goes to ah chong a.k.a most effective problem solver.. he diagnose bike problems llike he's a walking bike-opedia.. but the traffic of bikes is longer at planet..
