Hi guys,

Considering owning the xr1200, does anyone know if there are any street legal pipes for it? Also, may I know how the bike does in city riding? Wanna own my first Harley and it seems a good option!

Cheers

I believe the only pipes legal will be the Akra pipes. Nice and easy to zip around in the city too like most Sportster.

There r only these many shops that do Harley in Sg n I'm sure u already know who they are. Most of their rims r used as most prob they were removed to sell separately when e shops bought e bikes fr other owners. After that they will charge u high price for e rims.most prob wif e price they charge,u can buy a brand new rim wif shipping on eBay.

My chrome Harley Detonator Front wheel n Brand new take-off rear Deuce wheel were bought fr different sellers.include shipping here,it cost me abt sgd$900 only.

I suggest e rear u should go wif a deuce wheel.the front u can then choose any design u like. Deuce wheels don't cost alot on eBay :)

If u really wanna see wheel designs, juz go google n u can see alot of different wheels on different bikes.

Yeah I know the few Harley shops I go to do not sell rims. Just wondering if the rest sell. Thought it might be easier to find a shop that sell rims and let them fix cuz they will be more pro in the fitment. Was searching online and reading up forums about rims, but seems like it is quite difficult to find aftermarket rims that match the stock size (front 19 x 2.5, rear 17 x 4.5)... most website I went to for front rim, nearest match is 19 x 2.15. For rear, closest match is 18 x 5.5 or 17 x 3.0... According to hd forums, 18 x 5.5 should not be a prob, but then again, I can't be sure if the hubs will fit.

I know deuce stock 17 x 4.5 would be a cheaper and easier way, but I am trying to see if there are rims that are affordable enuff for me to buy front and rear.. haha... Anyway, the few deuce rims on ebay now are either too expensive or for exchange only... No good deals for the last 2 months..

Anyway, you get your tires from combine?

from my knowledge, for 19inch front wheel, it should come with 2.5 hub. only 21inch front wheel stock comes in skinny 2.15, or u can buy like what one of my guys did, got himself a 21x3 front wheel and thats massive. Ravi did a 23x3 on his front wheel for his rocker.

ok bro, if u r getting from aftermarket vendors, its even easier. aftermarket wheels comes with screw-on hubs, which is not like harley ones that casted as one whole wheel. u can ask them for 17inch rear wheel that can fit a 180 tyre but give u a 4.5inch hub.

try not to buy 18inch wheel as tyres are more difficult to find and more ex in sg. I juz passed a vrod rear 18x5.5 to my guy for him to mod to put on his dyna wideglide 2010. wif a lil mod, it can be fixed on the swingarm. refer to this link post #7:

As for shops, there are no "Just wondering if the rest sell." haha whatever shops r there u already know. there are no more shops u duno.

My old sportster, i ordered my wheels from http://www.hogpro.com.

Yeah i changed my tires at combine. If u want avon tires, they can get for u too. basically whatever tyre u want n they dun have, they will call their supplier and pick it up for u almost immediately.

I was looking at hogpro site too and only see 19x2.15... 21x3 sounds good. I intend to go 120 for the front and 180 for rear. How much did you pay for shipping one rim?

Anyway, still got shop I haven't go before lah... haha... Vicious cycle and twin performance. Twin performance i only went once and didn't hang around long enough to check out anything. I guess I stick to my search online then. If you happen to see any lobang for deuce rear rim, let me know. current ebay deals all for exchange only....

Hi ssk,I dunno abt others, but I feel Harley maintenance is almost e same as a Japanese bike.2 spark plugs,1 oil filter.1 btl gear oil,1 btl primary oil n 3 btl engine oil for my dyna.vrod I am not sure.its expensive if u buy parts locally.buying online can save u half e Amt u paid in Sg.
