after getting back to riding, i'm think of going for my class 2 and then get a HD. Have been looking at sporster or a 48, more my type of ride. I'm wondering what are the maintaince cost involved. Regular oil change or must do alot of things type?

 

Also when getting a pre-loved HD what are the things to look out for. Legal mods? cos i was looking at bro drifters86 48 and its really tempting. But since the inspection is coming, can pass?

if i were you...i will get a brand new one if i am not the sort who will do anything to the bike...but if you have to mod it and change things around, i would recommend that u get a used bike...the maintenance cost for a HD is not exactly high unless it involves. i would say $200-300 per 4-6 mths for servicing should suffice depending on your usage

 

recently the enforcement for pipes seems to gather momentum so you have to decide style or $/trouble

I would want something I can go vicom myself. Still searchin but budget is my concern. Juz saw a sportster goin for $17k seems stock. Only thing I fancy doin is probably the seat n handle bar

If I can offer some fresh perspective... I just changed the bars on my rocker c from drag bars with 9" rise to 14" apes with 3" rise... The cost in SGD was like this :

 

$150 for the bars

$250 for the cable kit ( which did not come with a brakeline ccb)

$43 for risers (as couldn't fit stock rocker c risers)

$20 for 2nd hand top clamp ( forgot to order so pick up from ah Seng)

Forgot how much to powder coat it.

$300 for installation and wiring.

$63 for shipping (estimated)

$150 for Brakeline and installation ( harley quoted $425 for just that)

 

Total $976 ( prolly 1k including powder coating the top clamp)

 

But I like how my bike looks and feels now... I suppose you can't really put a price tag on passion.
