Very tempting. Sending in my bike for full service, think i'll need to run in the brake pads before i head down to the track. And it'll be heart wrenching to thrash the bike right after a service. maybe the next time, u have fun man!

The best time to go on track will be right after a service.Jus an opinion, cause evry thing is tip-top.

You kinda need to run in the wax coating on new tires cos yes they can be very slippery. But after the service nah, i wouldnt head down to the track so soon. See how the bike feels first before being comfortable and going down :)

Hi, need a little help here. I have a 97 M 400. I want to change the switches on the bike..ie the light switches and ignition. How much do they cost?

Anyone has a rough guide?

definitely not after the service.its jus good to do track day when you've sort the bike. Not when its near time to get it service.you'll never know what will fail due to the trashing when you go on track day.

Seen a few case b4...not a nice sight.

somewhere in that region, depending on wat was replaced depending on how old is your bike..wat model..etc.

ive paid 300-500 b4.one time 800.

if its jus basic 10 000km sevice around 300-400.

Newer bike will cost less.

mine is 1997 monster 400, & they charge $800 for full servicing for 10,000km, plus got to leave my bike for 4 days. i feel quite expensive. like u say $500, is reasonable. can u intro the mechanic at the same price as u?

Prices don't really excite me there. Not that I cant afford. Was just looking out for other alternatives if there are any! 8-)

For what I know I did ask Race Werks before they charge abt $400+++ almost $500 for valve clearance. belt change, engine oil ( Maxima or Motul), oil filter and tuning = Full service.. leave the bike in the morning can collect bike by late evening same day... it applys to M400 only.. other CC different prices I guess as belt prices varies thats y... Well no harm asking them if interested... of coz if got any other cheaper shops out there pls care to intro to us as well..

I recently did a full servicing at RS Bike (Rosli) at Eunos for only $280. He will also give you a breakdown of servicing in an official receipt. Payment by cash and may need to put down a deposit if you do a lot of things.

Engine Oil

Oil Filter

Spark Plugs

Carb wash

new belts

wheel bearings

Tuning

I fully guarantee RS Bike. Very friendly and excellent service. My MY98 M400 bike now purrs like a true monster. My blackened block is now sparkling silver again. He does more than he should. You can tell him Mazlan yellow ducati recommended him.

Honestly... since I got the bike in April 07, I was not sure when the last servicing was done. So I told Rosli to do a full servicing and check whatever is necessary. Like I said, the bike purrs better and it doesn't cough at low gear when I slow down and pick up again. I can go over a hump at 3rd gear and pick up again with no jerking. My new clutch was hard as hell but now it's just nice. No more hand cramps. He must have fixed it and did not even make a deal out of it.

My suggestion is to call him and ask him the price before you go down. He'll be happy to tell you. Just be patient cos he's alone and may not be in the workshop all the time as he needs to test bikes and go out to get parts.

BTW, I also changed

sprockets and o-ring gold chain ($220)

Wheel Bearings ($30)

KNN Air Filter ($118)

Cheers Ducateers!

my advice..

mark yur mileage as the first 5000km service, when it turns to the next 5000km..do your 10000km service

for ducati.

This consist of the basics 10K SERVICE

1) engine oil (evry 5k)

2) spark plug (don change if its in good condition.last about 20k)

2) engine oil filter (evry 5k)

4) carb wash/tune (10k)

5) belts (10k)

6) valve adjustments. abt $200 (10k extremely important)

PLUS

All the wear and tear you'll find in a duc.
