wah this is really tempting... i am busy this weekend and this month is not so free for track either. Late bike ride on CNY eve is also difficult to commit. Arrrgggg. Saturday meet up then review options again.

track day next mth, feb the 24th? 25th?

If walking down the T-Shirt path, it has to be Nike DriFit

Got lobang for drifit at $15.. for print add another $10. I think $25 is reasonable for a club tee. Yani can help with the design. Should we do it in pink?

Dreamed I was a muffler. Woke up exhausted.

Noticed a lot of Monsters changing hands lately. I've also noticed more monsters in town, and I don't recognise these riders. So, if you are reading this. Welcome to the family. Yup. It's a family. It's a family thing, because like all families, it has it's ups & downs, but it's always a memorable pleasure overall.

One thing to always remember, is like family, we must sayang our monsters. The beast needs to know that you love her. The best way to show your love is to ride her. Ride her, ride her and ride her. Religiously service your bike. Penny wise, Pound foolish isn't the way of monster owners. If you religiously ride your monster, and religiously service your monster, you'll find that maintaining the monster isn't expensive, and it will not disappoint you.

Some people will tell you that it's costly, parts are difficult to get, or anything else. To these, all I can say is unless you have actually owned one, and clocked at least 2 FULL service cycles, SHUDDUP!!! coz you dont know jackshitte. It is NOT expensive to maintain a monster, she just need lots of TLC. Keep your money for bling items, coz we all know that the monster, (like most girls I know) perform better when equipped with jewelery.

Do not twist the throttle when you start the bike. For the original monsters, which are air-cooled, make sure the bike is warmed up before riding it.

Make sure you ride slowly, when passing by a crowded place known to have cute babes hanging around. Flash the word Ducati as much as you possibly can, but pls don't do something embarrassing.

Don't depend on your Fuel Indicator, since almost all of us here have ridden our bikes until bone dry. HaHaHa. Upon reflection, it does seem a bit stupid & funny, but it sure wasn't when I was stuck in the middle of PIE wo petrol in the tank.

Lastly, owning a Ducati, is like all good things in life, a privilege. This privilege isn't because you are rich, or good looking, or smart or whatever. This privilege is for those select few, who knows how to appreciate the good things in life. Always remember that, and have lotsa (safe) fun out there.

Ride Safe, Ride Fun. Ride like a ducatisti.........coz that's what life's all about.

hmmm.................posted around 5-6am.Shubhas,sleep.Not on keyboard or bike or car,on bed or office toilet if needed.

Post is suspiciously nostalgic, sort of a farewell one.............

anyway...bro...come this saturday with a full tank, and enough kopi $$$ with lots of energy.

If you are traveling along Beach Road (from town), turn left into Jalan Sultan, the moment you see the Concourse. About 500 metres after that, you'll see a Coffee shop on the left hand side. M A Deen Biasa is the name. We are there.

well we can rename the threads SBF DUCATI MONSTER AND LOVER V'S ............:cheeky:

This started out as a Ducati Monster Lovers thread and should remain so. There are other threads for the other V-Twins, from American to Korean, elsewhere in SBF.

Are you running rich? Check jetting. As for plugs use the normal ngk ones. Iridium ones dont last. Engine oil use 20 wt 50 like the manual says. Good luck

Dreamed I was a muffler. Woke up exhausted.

Unless you did some mods that required more air, IMHO 2 cents change to stock filters.....really!!!

has he been riding slowly and leisurely every day? low rpm load with constant highway riding can lead to carbon build-up on spark plug leads, especially for old bikes.. just a suggestion.

Ha..ha..ha...

Is not my FQ30..The owner whom has seen my bike half year ago and started snapping photos. He told me that he just got a used monster and wanted to convert her to looks like my FQ30...Soon after he converted his bike to looks like "FQ30". Knowing that i will be selling my original FQ30, he sold his replica "FQ30" and bought mine.....Now FQ30 has become FBDxxxx..

Presently, the original FQ30 is resting at the basement of my carpark ( The forbidden city ) and awaits for Feb 09..By then, FQ30 will see you again....

Dear all,

Thanks for your kind responses. An update:

Changed spark plugs, bike cannot start too. Carbs overflowed. So we cleared the overflowed carbs, dismantled the fuel filter, and tried to flush it out. K&N was cleaned, with not too much oil applied. Still cannot start. We deduced that the carbs are bad, cos' fuel just dripped. The monsters run Mikuni carbs, right? where can I get a rebuild kit for those?

Any suggestions? We have some ideas but I reckon you duke riders will be familiar.

Cheers
