Dear all,

Thanks for your kind responses. An update:

Changed spark plugs, bike cannot start too. Carbs overflowed. So we cleared the overflowed carbs, dismantled the fuel filter, and tried to flush it out. K&N was cleaned, with not too much oil applied. Still cannot start. We deduced that the carbs are bad, cos' fuel just dripped. The monsters run Mikuni carbs, right? where can I get a rebuild kit for those?

Any suggestions? We have some ideas but I reckon you duke riders will be familiar.

Cheers

Check a few posts back. Singhla was asking if pple wanted to mass order from a shop. The shop had new old stock of mikuni stock carbs. My 2 cents better replace w new carbs if it isnt too ex, rather than rebuild e carbs.

May not b the carbs problem cuz if it leaks means got fuel flowing.

Sounds like your rectifier not working.

3 things. Air, Spark or fuel

Got air?

Got fuel?

Got Spark?

hmm.....how can a carb mess leads to rectifier prob?

anyway if rectifier...which i doubt(i may be wrong)then one might want to look into the batt.

try to cover all possible areas.

ive got a spare working rectifier if you to do trouble shooting.

call me to make arrangements.

oh....ever considered fuel pump?

don go and do all expensive trouble shooting.do little ones 1st.

I'm ordering some parts and the vendor has offered the following from his clearance bin.

Oil Cooler - USD$120.00

Speedo (MPH) - USD$100.00

Mikuni Carbs - USD$180.00

All parts are brand new. Let me know by Jan 9.

This is still available. My order has not been shipped and can add to it.

Not too sure if I know how to put these in words. I'll try.

That was twice that I assist a fellow monster rider when his bike could not fire up.

You need 2 person to do these:

1. Lift up the tank.

2. There you see 2 pipes whereby for air intake I think.

3. Use plastic or anything, (hand palms) to fully cover the 2 tubes while the other person fire up the bike.

4. You'll get coughing from your beast in the first 3 attempts.

5. If all works well, you should get the beast come on alive in less than 10 start up.

Get dress and ride your fav route for 30km to feel the joy. But make sure you bring your cell along in case the beast mis-behave on you again.

Hope this helps :-)

Cheers!

I would like to improve the sound of my Duc S2R Monster 800. I'm

thinking of changing the just the silencers slip-on from the stock to

the Arrows units. Would the change of the silencers do or do I have to

change the entire exhaust (pipes included) along with the ECU?

Anyone want with any good sharing on this; regarding experience, cheap

shops in SG, ROV inspections, etc....

hi,

i had a arrow full system on my S4R in the past, and it was a nightmare trying to get it tuned. not really sure a slip-on will affect as much. and if it does. you can either buy the ECU for about 2k( or occasionally you can find it in EBAY for around 600-800 USD) or get a PCIII which cost around 1k include dyno, i brought the termi instead with the ECU and racing filter and no problems at all.

hope it helps!
