They drink petrol like water compare to these 3 models. doesnt mean cc low price muz be cheap. compare a rx8 with a honda stream can liao. honda stream is 1.8cc. price around 75k. but rx8? 1.3 onli. 95k plus. can nto compare like tt bro./ :thumb:

actually i think it's more on the driver.. driver's habit will play a big part.

engine may have some effect on it also but rem the mitsubishi pajero mini, it's 800cc and it's a drinker...

k cars is only gd for city driving, if u try to speed with it, ur FC will go up as well and it puts mre strain on your engine if let's say u go at slightly faster as compare to a 1.5L car

RX8 is diff cos it's a rotary engine... appear low in cc but actually highee BHP. it also drinks like mad cos rotary engine yearn to be rev up high.

Comparison is not on the cc... its on the price... meaning that for that price paid, can actually get cars with more power, space and comfort...

i tell you all....

before you buy this type of cars, think very very very hard.

becos in a short period of time you will get tired of it.

cant carry enough folks, got not enough power, got not enough looks, just good enough to bum around on your own basically.

So i also think better to get a normal sedan as advise by the rest.

By the time you want to sell and if you loan big big (dealers love that becos they get big big commission) then your balls big big (and I mean in the bad way) Down 50% is good...

anyway, this is just practical advice, if you got money and want to burn, please go ahead and enjoy.....

buy this kind of car how to loan big big ? at most over loan around 2k. u think buyer are stupid ? they over loan juz bcoz they dunwan cum out ani cash to pay for their 1st payment as well as their insurance. ppl buy this kind of car is bcoz of its look. how can u say not enough looks ? they buy is bcoz they like the MI looks. same goes to getz. unelss u buy a car n u dun like the car looks then for wat u buy the car ? LOL. power side, is has turbo. to make sure it have enough power, due to its 658cc. low oil comsumption. loan com is very little. not as u said big big com. is around 2.5% to 4% depend on cash rebate n % rate. i think is fair for the dealer to earn this loan commision. buyer ownself go ani bank loan they wont gif u this sum of money wat. aniway down how much is up to the customer. they wan 1 shot full cash buy also good for them. LOL. :goodluck: :bouncefire:

lol. true la.. but different ppl different taste. they prefer MI n let them be lor. same goes to those who prefer altis. so ex.. plus is a thai made car.

Ya I know... I'm not discriminating those cars nor their preferences... just my POV that its more worth the $$ to buy the other models I mentioned...

haha personally i feel its really up to own prefernce on the car, i personally feel sedan car so ugly and common looking (you practically see them all on road, and i don really liked the idea), and vice verse can be said by sedan drivers. I love hatchbacks, and only me and myself driving most of the time and i hate to tompang pple, and don like the idea being a chauffeur to friends so a two seater will serve best for me, not to mention of me having a family 2 only. Afterall my companion in my car will always just be dogs.

I go for the design, not much for the performance, i don't belong to the category of (drivers who dash once the green light out and outwin the rest and feel shiok dono for what). So performace is out for me, anyway the speed 90km/hr top speed for Mit i is what i got from sgcartmart.com.

My hearts goes to Subaru R1, will be doing a test drive this Friday at the showroom, then Mit i on Saturday appointment. Though 50% already went to 3 doors R1. :)

Haha. Thats 99% of singaporean who are buying car are doing that. They all dunwan come up with cash. They rather loan higher/overloan n keep the extra cash in their pocket n pay monthle installment, rather than ask them pay upfront like 1st installment n insurance ,onil around a few ks.. All wan $0 drive away. Totally no brain.. i have encounter some customer, no money still die die wan buy car, Arbo those car drive 1 yr, still in good condition, but feel sianz liao backside itchy wan change car, but no money pay their fullsettlement, if pay, lose a lot. so in the end take Cashrebate then roll roll, snow ball effiect. hope they bankrupt soon.. Thats why in the newspaper, there are so many ppl declair bankruptcy everyday..

ok, very simple, lets take a very simple example here. lets say, a brand new mit-i selling at 50k. take up 10 yr loan at lowest interest rate of 2.85%, monthly will be $50,000 x 2.85% x 10yrs + $50,000 divided by 120 months = monthly $535.

BUT For those who wan to do overtrade, meaning they currently driving a vehicle, but wan upgrade to mit i, they have to clear their current vehicle's fullsettlment, lets say the fullsettlement is around 6k n owner have no cash to come up with, so here comes the cash rebate. The owner buy mit i , loan $50,000, But at a higher interest rate of either 3.5%, 4% or highest 4.5%, normally is 4%, unless their fullsettlement is a huge amount, then go for the 4.5%, meaning they loan $50,000, at 4% per yr, loan 10yrs, out of these 10yrs, his total loan interest paying for the car is $20,000. Cash rebate is, out of this 20k interest, bank gif u back 30% of total interest. which is $6000 CASH, So in the end, he loan $50,000, take back $6,000 cash, to clear his fullsettlemnt of his old vehicle, but his monthly installment of the new mit i is $50k x 4% x 10yrs + $50k divided by 120 months = $583.

Another idea of cashrebate is, they use ur cash rebate to do ur downpayment/upfront, meaning u buy mit i at $50,000 correct, but lets say u loan at $45,000, then out of this $45,000, ur cash rebate is $5,400, u use 5k out of this $5400 to do ur downpayment, coz u onli loan $45, n the selling price is $50k, monthly will be $45k x 4% x 10yrs + $45k divided by 120 months = $525, compare to normal interest rate - monthly $535, is cheaper correct, coz although the interest rate is higher, but u loan at a smaller amount.

So when buying a same model car, sum dealer are selling at $50k, some are selling at $40k++ which is after cash rebate, some are even selling at $30k++, which is without COE, many pattern. So those stupid customer, choose to buy from a cheap price , will definitely lose out in the end, coz eat small adventage = lose out big. Not onli PI are doing tt, even big agent like B*NE* are doing tt, in the end get complained. But is no choice.. HAHA. hope u can understand it better.

The Mit-i is u-g-l-y.

The roof of the R1 is rather low. Quite easy to hit my head.

As I mentioned in my earlier post, if you're going to get niche cars, you have to consider the practicality and the resale value.

4 seater but behind seats are good as none, (very compact at the back) thats the good thing, as i mentioned, backseats are only for my dogs, not for passengers.

practicality is there for me up to next 5 yrs at least, resale doesnt really matter much for me either, driving car in singapore will always be a liability already, don like to vex so much about resale value, :cheeky: And eventually, this car after my 3 year loan, will be either continue driving it, or until i see another lovable car, I wont be selling off, but will be buying another 2nd car, and this probably becomes a spare, or for my younger brother.

Anyway tried the R1 last week, decided on the red and black leather duo tone interior, pearl white/black colour, will downpayment 30k, getting 3 yr loan...

Thanks guys for your explaination! Case close! :thumb:

Congrats scooterist, enjoy your car....

At least you do not form part of the 99% of car drivers in Singapore....heh heh, good stuff, that alone is worth a round of applause.

the R1/R2 is a pretty nice little car... I sat in one by chance when going to view the WRX Sti my friend is buying....... Nice European touches for the interior. However, I am pretty sure it is squeezy if you want for adults in it... if alway 1 or 2 person then pretty alright. Likewise for the power... probably can get by if driving alone or another pax most of the time, once you have rear seaters, you will feel the sore. I amde a mistake like this once . Bought a KIA SPECTRA almost 10 years back.....regretted it so much, sold it after 6 months and only done 5000km! With a loss of $12K!! Exlcuding loan penalty!

haha. true.. once ur backside sit on it n sell off, u lose. the faster u sell, the more u lose out.. take up 10 yrs loan, take around 5 yr to break even if u have downpayment n around 6 yrs to break even if u full loan,
