Anyone can recommend me a shop to buy waterproof gloves, went to Regina but they only have one type, the STS Drystar Alpinestar glove that don't seems to offer much protection. :help:

It doesn't make any difference whether a motorcyclist has the right-of-way or not, the rider is the one most likely to get hurt.

There are a few diff models of these types of gloves.

Got many brands but all are the same gloves.

Bikers DIY @ Joo Chiat sells them too.

Brand is IZ-2.

A couple of shops in Bukit Merah also sells them.

Even JB and Hatyai also have.

Cheers !

Hi guys n gals,

Most of you-people wearing gloves thats a good sign. If you guys can give more feedback of your glove, cost, types, quality and how long it lasted- not forgetting whether it is waterproof. It will help-most people to choose better gloves!!

I used Dainese gloves-it lasted me for 5yrs (everyday used) to be exact, still can use but shows- sign of wear n tear(abit of lobang).. bought about $110- It is the short leather glove, I prefered short gloves- air can go thru the jacket cuffs, It is not waterproof and I don't feel warm too..Grips are good!

Now I am using the alphinestar same short gloves 2yrs into using those (lastic bands) under the glove loosen the leathers are still in good condition -not waterproof and don't feel warm. cost $150. colour fades off.

And I thinking of getting another glove ..

See how, is the feedback and recommendations.. I still have the thoughts' for (dainese gloves).but I open for other options too..

May I ask where you get these two gloves from?

I use my gloves on a daily basis, everywhere I go I wear gloves. I clock about 3000km a month.

LAB cheapo GP-Pro gloves ($15)

Horrible, thumb area worn out, got hole after 4 weeks of daily use.

Alpinestars SPS - $120 , 8 months (2nd hand)

Very good street gloves, just that its difficult to wash and dry. I have sweaty palms, so the gloves kinda get stinky and damp after a day of use. Ventilation is not very good too. Fell three times at low speed, the leather still looked as good as new.

Alpinestars GP-Pro - $300 , 3 months (2nd hand)

Not very comfortable for daily use due to racing design. Knuckle guards can cause discomfort on knuckles ( i got big knuckles, turns red after a long ride). 3rd and 4th finger are stiched together for strength, so takes some time to get used to. I like it alot though, the protection looks very good, all the right things at the right places. Ventilation is good too.

But, its NOT water proof. I made a mistake of riding in the rain all day long, and end up the leather on the fingers started to crumble away. The last two fingers used to turn the trottle had holes on them after the ride!

I've had the gloves repaired since, but there goes my $300 gloves. Very good track gloves, abit of an overkill for street gloves, just do NOT use it in the rain and it should be fine.

kominie Mesh gloves - $85 (I can't seem to find any info online)

Used for one month. Very very very good ventilation! FOr once, my hands are dry after rides. Even without gloves my grips will be wet with my sweaty palms, so the mesh glove works wonders. In light rain my hands end up 100% dry too, kinda a pleasant surprise. No leather gloves is gonna keep your hands as dry as a mesh glove if you got sweaty palms. I'm sure the whole thing will be soaked in a rain storm though, and the red colour dye will surely bleed and paint my hands red.

So far so good. Protection is nowhere as good as the Alpinestars SPS, but for me, the ventilation and comfort is a good tradeoff. Very nice street gloves :thumb:

Now I'm going to look for a good touring glove. If anyone wants to buy an Alpinestars GP-Pro, I'm selling mine for $150. Brand new price is pretty ridiculous.

Thanks for your feedback, have check with Regina, they only have ST-S Drystar and nothing else waterproof.

Looks like I would have to import them in myself

hi there,

I just bought the clover full leather glove(model LS-3) with all the knuckle guard finger guards, about $150.00 after bargain it from $180.00 at chiap lee, just started using it .. so it takes awhile to get season but I got the habit of applying those leather moisturizers to improve the glove quality, making it waterproof to certain degrees and it help to last longer..thats what I did to other gloves which I had...

If you guys happen to be at Scotts Rd, can drop by Pacific Plaza. There is Fox boutique there. Not bad but limited range.

The greatest mistake is to repeat the same mistake

Leather gloves takes time to season up, once it is season, it will be very nice to wear. When the times comes, your hands will feel "naked" without gloves
