Hello to fellow FJR riders. I'm new to FJR, just owned an '03 model for the past 3 months. Did some basic work on my bike such as changing steel braided brakes hoses and clutch hose, rework my front fork, change wheel bearings, change of engine oil and filter and etc...

Recently, I'm having problem with my auto choke. Usually, the auto choke will be on for about 1 min max, before the bike goes to normal idling. But about 1 or 2 weeks ago, the auto choke would be on for very very long.As long as 5 mins, and my temp will go up to 3 bars, so I decide to just ride it with the auto choke still on.

Its a bit dangerous, cos the rev of the engine will be high. After riding for a while, then the auto choke will go off, and the idling will go back to normal. The problem with the auto choke is a daily affair, and I could not find out the solution. Anyone has experienced this before? Any advice? and any good FJR mechanics to recommend? Thanks in advance for any help. Regards..

The old-timers here will recommend Ah Keong from HKL (the side of the HKL workshop where they have a second-level air-con shop selling accessories, such as gloves, helmets, boots, etc...).

But I am not sure about the "new" FJR owners here. Every one has own their favourite mechanics. To each his own...

Good Luck for your repairs. Hope it is not too big a problem.

Cheers.

did u install slider on ur bike bro? coz slider can actually help u alot! Tested and proven for me at least.

for panniers respray, mayb the lao-jiaos can help. If i'm not wrong, abt $80-$90, dats y i bo-chap my panniers. Coz after respray, no guarantees i wun get it scratched again coz i'm a rugged rider.

for mirror, goto Auto Machinery @ Rowell Road nearby Mustaffa Centre.

Consfem VERY much cheaper den our agent HL. and no GST! :D

both panniers spary is around $100 to $150.

best is after spary. Wax it till shine then paste the Race Shield to protect it.

can ask Kazky about it cos he sees my box with the Race Shield

Guys, Thanks for the prompt suggestions, and even received a PM on what the problem could be with my auto choke. I will see a mechanic tomorrow, and try to rectify the problem. I will keep you guys updated. Once again, thanks to all. Really friendly bunch of riders in here.
