Hi guys, I been lurking on this thread lately, hoping to find someone to share some notes with. I simply love these bikes, and in fact turn one into my track bike. Cost of parts for repair isn’t that much expensive here, more so if you know how to DIY. If any one here isn’t afraid to get some elbow grease, you can PM me and I could take you step by step in repairing or modifying you beloved NC30/35.

Currently 63bhp but setting up for 70+bhp

Y'know, I'd love to know more about this and to begin equipping my V4, as I often bring mine to the racetrack.

Parts-wise, I only know that much. There are stores to assist us in unique spare (racing) parts but they can only do so much as to liaise with overseas suppliers and to send them back to us. Worse still, it's just selective parts...and not all of them.

Worse still, there is no knowledge on whether the parts are genuine, or just mimicked at some China factory...

By the way, the UK and Europe is 400cc sportbike haven where one is sure to find parts everywhere you go. Too bad this is Singapore and thanks to COE, our sportbike breed is dying out.

Let me know when you'd like to start; I'd love to liaise with you on this beautiful baby ;)

Carb cleaning will definitely improve the performance. As for how much will have to depend on the mechanic that will be doing for u. If he very good and solid, then he'll tune u a good and solid and fuel economical bike lor.. if he anyhow anyhow then dun expect too much out from it.

Dirty carburetor = lousy fuel mileage.

An easy job which takes 1 or 2 hours, taking into account that your mechanic is not dealing with several other bikes as well.

Also, our bikes are different from the Class 2B ones in that we have 4 carburetors instead of 1.

Your mech may also offer you to "tune" your carburetors to synchronize all 4 of them for an additional fee. Up to you on whether you want to do it or not.

Cheers

he got it from universal motors. i can verify that his rvf done up by them sui sui. 5.8k machine price is a very reasonable offer for RVF. unlike those 7k and above i'm used to seeing in the garage sales. anyway, its hard to find one so cheap la. haha...

Hi Guys,

I am new to this forum n i am very intersted in riding a RVF soon when i get my 2A, like to find out what's the market price now for a FS or FT?

How much does a regular servicing cost and how often to change what?

Heard that there would always be a rectifier problem with RVF, is it true?

Thanx

Hi all, been riding my RVF for about 1 year alr, had to change the rectifier twice, first time with a normal rectifier (around $70-80), this time I changed to the original one ($130 at Looi's). Not sure if it will make a difference. I heard that RVFs commonly have this problem.

That being said, I don't regret buying my RVF. It's a joy to ride, very fierce bike!
