Care to share ur views on his recent happenings.

think one of the incidents have been posted somewhere in this section already. N since i heard if from someone else though i believe its a reliable source, i feel that its not right to post it out like that. So i'm not going into details abt it.

What i feel is that its not totally ah chong's fault..... but he has to do something about it n fast.... cos i feel its abt the guy's work ethics. And after hearing about what happened, i have second thoughts on letting the guy work on my bike.

Trust and reputation takes a long time to earn but a split second to lose it.

I find him a bit weird..... almost scary. And i can freaking confirm he is into TECHNO music man. All da way techno from his mouth. Hahahahah. Did my brake pads today, must say quite ok dude. While doin pads he checked other parts as well like chain sag too much and all. Advice here and there. His name not sure its Hok or Hawk.

Had this front brake jerking prob since few mths ago...

1st time i went planet, chong showed mi its my brake disc 1 side a bit dented...

So he send both front discs for pressing and sanding...

Come back result not veri good, he charge mi cost price onli...

Yesterday went back to him again, wanted to seek for advise on the prob...

He sugested to try pressing and sandin again...

But this time round, he volunteer not to charge mi if the prob is not solved...

If solved onli need to give him $50...

When done, he tried my bike and his conclusion is braking is better, but not totally solved, not ideal enough...

Thus he did not charge mi a single cent at all...

I have to salute him :thumb:

He works wit ethics, not like some shops tat would onli help u solve but if its not solved, not their prob...

If this is the way in which the Ah Chong from this so calld Planet mototiam works than it shows he is not very professional in his work.

If you had approached him with a brake problem then....and on inspecting the problem, he could first use a vernier caliper to measure the difference in the variation in thickness at various points of the disc.

On visual inspection if he could see and feel your rotor are 'eaten' into or deep uneven grooves in the rotors had formed then he should not even proceed with the sanding and pressing and still charge you $50 becos the problem cannot be solved this way. Your rotor need to be replaced!

Talk about honesty in servicing?

On a more professional way, he could dismount your rotor,

placed it on a flat surface like a granite table and check for warp and using some device like a indicating dial gage determine the actual variation in the rotor thickness thru the entire diameter of the disc.

But with mototiam like these...would you expect such expertise?

On the other hand, did he determine whether your brake piston are kindaof 'stuck' in the caliper and cannot be retracted easily.

Or did he examine your brake pads to see whether the pads when installed have a flat and even contact on the rotors and was there proper toe-in for the pads?

I don't think he had resolved your brake problem becos these shops just don't do a PROPER job!....period. :D

I will travel from Jurong to Planet for servicing. if mechanic are busy i will wait.

Is ok for me if this old ape and his mechanic dont read measuring instrument, no granite table for checking flatness, no tool room gauges.

I trusted that they are all doing a good job, they dont carrot me. Prefer to change parts if parts service life is due.
