Sharing; H&B Xplorer on S4 seat (MOD)

Just sharing on what I did for my S4S3... saw a base for pillion seat replacement before but obviously none for S4 so here's what I did...

 

wanting something like this...

 

base of the seat with M10 bolts...

 

no such thing as angle spacer/washer so have to mod myself...

 

bolts, nuts & supports...

 

this is why the angle spacer/washer required... keeping it upright...

 

its a wrap...

And the final product...

rubber spacer inserted in the extended bolts tt protruding out of the seat to add extra support...

Good idea but may I know how you make the seat waterproof?

 

With 4 holes in the seat, won't the foam seat 'collect' water where the

holes are?

Tot of putting silicon around the hole area but i just had no time coz need this for work. What i did was ask the uncle to put a layer of wrap material around the bolts (unstretch) before putting the actual wrap (stretch) so that the hole is minimise.

 

Another thing i use is the rubber spacer. I would have put silicon so that it would form a layer of waterproofing in between the rubber spacer & seat wrap. Maybe next time.
