Hi folks.

After a long wait, I finally got my E61i CE version. Here's the opening ceremony...

Nice blue corporate bag

For a big phone, the packaging is quite small. Much smaller than say an N95. Kudos!

What you see when you open the box

Contents in the box, clockwise from top left: stereo ear piece, software, E61i, 256MB micro SD, battery, manual, USB sync cable, charger, warranty card.

You can see it's slightly slimmer

Nicer looking?

Main difference

The new keypad is much better to use

Insert the SIM card

Insert the battery

And it's alive

Actually, the main differences between the E61i and the E90 are:

1) E61i has no GPS

2) E61i's screen is nowhere near as good as the E90's

3) You have to use QWERTY to input data, whereas on the E90, you have a full function alpha numeric T9 keypad if you choose

4) E61i has a 2MP camera while the E90 has a 3MP one

5) E90 form factor is bigger and chunkier and a lot heavier

Other than that, they are similar.

Hi friedfishz.

Yes, I've used the E61 before. It's pretty ok. If you get the earlier versions, you must install the SMS accelerator, otherwise, you will vomit blood SMS'ing on the phone. Other than that, it's fine.

Just that the E61i better. The finishing, the speed of the interface and the feel of the buttons are much improved. But if you must have a cameraless phone, this would be one of the top choices besides your usual Blackberry. Symbian platform means plenty of 3rd party software support.

One thing worth noting is that it is a tough phone. I dropped it dunno how many times, until the edges all kena chip off (chunks of metal actually fell off until can see the inside of the phone), and the phone is still working fine...

Thanx for your feedback~! Yeah I was thinking about the Blackberry too but the value of the phone is not really good... trade-in can only get $50 max. I guess E61 should be the way to go for me...

Thanx once again~!
