Pulai Waterfall & Lam Seafood On Saturday 2nd June 2007

You all went in by the small bendy road meant for 1 car length only from the side road (Not the main Pulai State Park entrance)? Then after which you will hit a clearing for parking, there is a wooden pavilion there, am I right?

 

I don't remember seeing such a big pool and waterfall, I thought just some rapids...

the big pool got to cross the stream, climb further up the steps for 5 mins. Take care not to park the bike there without someone keeping an eye.

Part 6

 

After the waterfall, we headed straight for the very scenic Lam Seafood which is located after Taman Perling. The previous trip i organized to that place wasn't too well, it was low tide & already dark when we reached there . And it seem that once night has fallen after 7pm, mosquitoes will come.

But this time , we reached the seaside restaurant at 6pm - the sunset view makes the scenery very nice. Also, there were hardly any mosquitoes. But, at about 7pm, the mosquitoes starts coming. My advice to SBF riders who intend to visit Lam Seafood, do bring along a packet of mosquito coil. The GPS coordinates for Lam seafood is N 01.46116deg , E 103.70589deg

There were fallen durians on the ground, since we can't resist the temptation , we ate some fresh on the spot.

Part 4

 

After the durian farm, we decided that time is running out & we skip the old pulai waterfall which we had intended to swim. We decided to head for the second waterfall which is on another side of the pulai mountain. Once we came off the main road & enters the 1 way kampung road leading to the falls, we saw many durian trees scattered everywhere. At the entrance to the waterfall, there is a sarabat stalls where we parked our bikes. Surrounding this place are lots of durian trees. I managed to snap some closeup shots of durians on the tree. We also ate some fallen durians & then wash our hands on the nearby streams.

After lunch, we managed to found the kulai durian farms, there seems to be plenty around that Kg. Rahmat area, but we do not know where the owners' house is located. Finally we found a quaint little house , the owner was there & is a very friendly & chatty malay guy who speaks excellent english. He offered us some free durians & rambutans to sample. He told us that the best durians for his farm will come only in beginning of august or late july only. It will last till end of august. We tried the durians; they're indeed good. So for those SBF riders who don't like to ride to faraway Segamat for durians, maybe can try this place- GPS coordinates is N 01.67310deg E 103.50358deg , the guy 's name is Mr. Rapi & his hp is +6017 7294621 or +6012 7384531. You have to call & arrange date & time & number of people, so that he can collect & reserves the durians for your group of people. And the price is RM2 per Kg only.

There are tables & handwashing facilities also at his place or home of course.

The purpose of this thread is to document the adventures we had , so any other SBF riders can also visit the same place if you're interested.

 

On 7th July 2007 morning, 1 R1 & 3 S4 super boldor had make plans to visit 2 waterfall on Gunung Pulai (off Kulai town) , probably had a swim in one of them, then proceed to a durian farm near Pontian.

 

But instead, the staff at our favourite famous hainan beef noodle restaurant in kulai , told us of durian farms near kulai, at a place call Kg. Rahmat. So we changed our plans & decide to find the farms & post the coordinates in SBF.

 

Btw, the hainan beef noodle is really good. Originally they were located at the old kulai town but shifted to a new taman nearby. The GPS coordinates are: N01.65608deg E 103.58865deg
