hey bros and fellows x1-r riders.. im kinda new here.. i bought my x1r barely abt a month ago... i have been using V-Power all the way.. if i were to change to either 92, 95, 98, will it have any impact on my bike? and do i need to wait till my fuel gauge shows empty then i can change to a different fuel type.. or i can just mix it? let say my bike is now half filled with v-poweR?

ohh yah.. 1 more thing... i find that i need to warm up my bike longer... roughly abt 5 mins(not sure is it the standard timing)..if not... usually at the 2nd traffic light.. when i want to move off, my bike will surely die off...have to push my bike to the side.. and kick start slowly.. i heard from some people.. their x1r.. 1-2 min warm up enough already.. anyone have this problem?

I normally pump 98 grade petrol but i did some "testing" with the other grades and brands. I'm not a petrol geek but to me, there is a difference.. A more smoother and faster pick up with a higher grade petrol. But FC is higher compared to the lower grades. Maybe because it burns faster? So 95 grade petrols should give you the balance of power and good FC.. About MIXING petrols, There is no problem in mixing but I always practice running my tank on really low levels before i pump another grade / brand of petrol.

I take about a minute or two before i move off?

Sometimes I don't even warm up. One / Two short revs and I cruise at low speeds, going through all the gears till i reach my 1st traffic light. When moving off, my bike responds is great!

Maybe because your engine hasn't run in / break in properly?

Hope my replies help! =)

by the way, how to run in the bike? follow the owners manual? will be collecting my bike this sat.

thankx

What i did was to travel 80km/h for the 1st 1000km (Changed engine oil plus oil filter twice). I didn't go above 100km/h after my bike ran more then 3000km just to make sure my bike was fully run in (what can i say? My first bike). Now I change engine oil plus filter every 2000km - 3000km

Thx for the help and the reply..

Jus for your info..

i`ve been travelling from 80-90km/hr for the first 1000km..then i change my engine oil using semi synthetic.

then.. i`ve been travelling at the same speed and i already reach the 2000km mileage.. but i`ve not yet change my engine oil.. as im waiting to change when i go over to the bike shop to pay my installments next week. here`s the thing.. sometimes i when i want to overtake.. i seem to reach 100-120km/hr easily.. then i hv to slow down after overtaking to drop back to 90km/h.. so just checking.. do you think im done with the running in part? or am i pushing my bike to fast??

lOl. You're welcome..

You're done with your running in part. Though I didn't really push my bike hard till I hit 3000km, You should be done with running in. Just don't open your throttle fully all the time.

Hi, I presume the avatar is your current bike. The rims are given by the shop when u bought this X-1R? OR you bought it?

Running in.... the mech told me my first 800km not to exceed 100km/hr... afterwhich my first EO & filter change I still maintain not more than 100km/hr... was told to change EO again at 2000km.

Where you bought ur bike?
