It all depends on wat you want. Good price for bike and higher trade-in value or good customer service?

Guess which word had this meaning.

1. Any code or set of principles containing different provisions for one group of people than for another, esp. an unwritten code of sexual behavior permitting men more freedom than women.

2. A set of principles permitting greater opportunity or liberty to one than to another, especially the granting of greater sexual freedom to men than to women.

3. A set of principles establishing different provisions for one group than another; also, specifically, allowing men more sexual freedom than women.

HKL can be a good place to trade in too... And 5% for second bikes. :thumb:

At least the boss of HKL talks better than the animal.

This is kinda lengthy but i felt obliged to put this up as a little advertisment for his shop on a job well done...

Date: Yesterday

Shop Name: 123 bike shop(seriously!)

Address: Kempas rd, back lane of old shophouses where Minera motors is, parallel to lavender st

Phone Number: ?

What service/product did you purchase?

change eng oil, filter, rear brake & front alignment

Level of service: 10

Level of knowledge: 8

Level of value for money: 10

How happy are you overall? VERY!

What makes this shop commendable?

Friend recommended this bike shop... actually went there to service my previous bikes few yrs back. Decided to go back there again to check out the shop yesterday.

Changed eng oil n oil filter - castrol 4t, $9/btl, $13 oil filter(XR4). Then wanted him to clean my K&N filter but he said will take time to dry as its a rainy day n not adviceable to use compress air cos will damage the air filter element . Got him to check on my rear brake instead(no braking power)... very professional. Went step by step to troubleshoot it(took out caliper, clean up piston, lub it, test etc) and then finally suggested to change the pads(daytona brand - $25). Cleaned up rusty spots, put fresh grease on all the proper places before putting everything back.

I usually like to do my own basic bike maintenence but not sure if there's a correct way to align my forks. So actually wanted to ask for a little tip on how to do it but instead told me he will check out the alignment for me. Rode out twice ard the nearby blocks just to align the forks for me.

So why is this shop commendable? Some may think, "Hey, these are no big deal... any average mech can do tat...". Well IMO, this is why.

- very honest guy(kenny?) n willing to give lots of good advice("Lub here with chain lub better than WD40", "Glue rubber piece here to protect there cos see alot other bikes scratched there", even demonstrated a better method to kick start my bike!). He's not like those who are afraid u might learn too much trade secret n not come back to him. Explains stuff for you...

- professional in the way he handles your bike, gentle in everyway on it. Not like some Ah beng workshop tat treat your bike like scrape metal. Wipes oil fliter cover/drain plug/oil cap clean before opening to prevent dirt in your engine. And I'm sure u guys hated the greasy grips after a bike service... me too. This guy bothers to wrap newspapers ard the handlebar grips before putting his greasy hands on them during the servicing. And actually washed his hands before test riding my bike! 1st time i see mech do tat(maybe Planet motor also lar)... no horse run! You can see his passion for the job...

- he's a one-man-show( ) even with another customer waiting, still told me during the fork alignment he will adjust until i feel its straight... i believe some other mech might give me bull crap excueses("Your fork/handlebar/frame bend lar... cannot help lar...must change.") to make me F.O.

- cheap! for all those stuff done tat i mentioned above, he only charged a $10 workmanship fee! The shop may not look like much but Bros on a tight budget who needs some TLC kinda servicing can go to him...

:cheer:

haha he is my frend aka trusted mech. :thumb:

When ask for quote at Bike Production.

Ah swee the boss only give the machine price. Insurance, Road Tax, Accessories, Handling fee etc are NOT included.

When the boss is talking to someone, talking to phone. Don't need to ask him question, he will not answer or he will ask you what did you ask.

When he is doing paper work, seaching for something etc. Call him first, ask him and he will reply, abit slow.

Best is ask him when he got nothing to do.

Some ppl might find him got stuck up attitude.

I bought shadow 400 there at low price and sold back to him at quite high price.

Unfortunately, I was talking to him when he wasnt entertaining at that guy. He knew I was asking him questions... But he declined to reply.

Anyway... It will be open to let others experience whether my statement is true or fake since 3 of us were there to witness it.

People experience it.

Anyways, it's over. Won't be going there again. Good to know you had pleasant dealings with him (which is probably why you tried to defend him albeit in vain).

I agree. Just that have to wait a bit longer. I waited 1hrs plus for him to start doing the paper work when i bought my Fazer last month. For the price that i get for my Fazer & the trade-in value of my old bike. The amount of saving that i get abt $2k-3k, i dun mind wait and get his attitude.

If you can save a lot of money then care so much for wat?

Thanks. I'm not really fussy about good service. Actually I expected that from some shops but if the bike's fine and the price is good..who cares right?

But this imbecile wasn't even answering our question and made us stand in front of him like complete fools for what seemed like a very long time. Can't even answer our question, how to buy...correct or not? Haha

Agree... I think too much duplication created names or friends of their's standing beside waving flag of supports. I have my brain and know exactly where to find cheap bikes than this. Nvm... Just like what I said... Words fly fast and high.
