Newbie here.just registered to learn class 2b.can i attend the lesson in any order?can it be lesson 2,1,3,4,5,6,7?can i attend the orientation first before lesson?

No.All lessons are to be attended in order.Lesson 1 Clutch,Throttle control.Say u go directly to Lesson 2.You would be using the up to gear 3.If your basic clutch and throttle control weren't there,i doubt you be able to even move the bike w/o stalling. Orientation first then 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,TP,Expressway Familiarization. All in order.

To note:Less 4 is a circuit test to see if you're ready for on road riding.Lesson 7 is circuit+on road test to see if you're ready for TP.

22 May 2014 - Passed TP (1st attempt)

28 May 2014 - Pulsar 200 NS (FBH2***Y)

THEORY 1-7 can be in any order. PRACTICAL 1-7 must be in sequence.

Orientation must go before PRACTICAL. no need theory for it.

My advice, quickly clear 1-4 THEORY, i think some days there's 1 full day to do 1-4, clear it asap and book 4 sessions of Trial Theory Tests to book your RTT, the RTT test date is a real pain to wait for.

make sure you book IMMEDIATELY after you pass the Trial Theory Test, my friend missed the Feb slot as the TTT is only valid for 1 month to book your RTT, he has to wait til end of March.

Thx for the advise guys.usually how long to get the licence? Can tell the procedure after orientation> 7 lesson then what?the lady at counter speak too fast can't remember all

If you rush it.And clear every lessons within 1 or 2 tries,i'd say around 5-7 months?

Orientation - Give you a basic introduction of the motorcycles and circuit you'll be using through-out your lessons.

Lesson 1 - Clutch and Throttle control and correct braking technique. If you're good, you'll advance to the mini circuit and go up to gear 2.Then you'll using the bigger circuit going up to gear 4.

Lesson 2 - Doing plank and pylon course.

Lesson 3 pt 1 - Doing Figure 8 and Crank courses.

Lesson 3 pt 2 - Doing circuit test route

Lesson 4 - Circuit test. Less then 18 demerit points to adv to Lesson 5

Lesson 5(on road riding,Need PDL) - You'll follow the instructors who will lead you for various left, right turns, filter lanes,U-Turns.

Lesson 6 - You'll be doing on road test course.Gotta remember the route (TP test course)

Lesson 7 - Circuit+On road test. Less then 18 demerit points to pass.

TP - self explanatory

Xpressway Familiarization - Riding on the Xpress Way to familiarize yourself of the dangers.

Just went for prac 4 assessment. Got 2 demerit point and 1 IF. I fell down together with my bike at the crank course.

What happened was I turn in and changed gear. Instead I changed it to neutral. I thought it was gear 2 so I continued to let the bike roll and eventually fell.

wah that sucks.

i went for my lesson 5 just now, saw a minor accident in the circuit.

we were warming up, doing turns and stuff, then this indian guy rode in a perpendicular directions towards a girl.

the girl didnt see him cause she was looking right to turn right but the indian guy was looking forward but somehow didnt see her.

crashed already he still doesnt know what happened -_-

luckily the speed was probably 15-20kmh, no big deal.

and pillion riding is BACK! 1 quick loop around the outer circuit then switch position then continue with road riding.

pass lesson 6 then kena "psycho" to take a circuit revision or road revision before going for lesson 7.

just as well i guess.. TP date already end of April, omg...

Just go for Lesson 7.If you fail the first time, treat it as a guide and learn from it.Lesson 7 $50+. Road Revision also $50+.

One tells you your mistakes and weakness whereas the other just lets you continue making the mistakes(Unless the instructor is good enough to tell you)

First orientation no need bring glove right?do i have to bring my own helmet or they supply?

You can choose to wear their helmet or buy your own helmet. However, you dont need it on lesson 0 (Orientation). You can just wear shorts and slipper if you want.

No need to bring helmet and gloves as you wouldnt be doing any riding for lesson 0/

Ya but I am not free for night riding till next week. So I booked the afternoon slot. I heard from friends that as long as you go for one night riding before lesson 7, shouldnt be a problem

Hello ppl, I'm having my lessons at ssdc as well, just failed lesson 7 as a first timer today. Booked L7 next Wed, wondering if anyone is the same?

Anyway for those lesson 6 going to 7, don't bother going RR or CR, waste of time and money. Just go for L7 (90% failure for 1st timers) and once done, you are able to practise in the circuit for approx 45mins.

Learned my lesson through the hard way, damm.

Anyone know how to choose the correct size helmet?should it be abit hard to put it on your head or just slide it in.the shop owner told me the cheek pad should hold your cheeks firmly.

Hi xxthemagesxx,

please also check that when you turn your head with the helmet on, make sure the helmet turns with your head immediately as well.

a snug fit is important.

a too big of a helmet, will be loose and will turn slightly slower. (hope you understand the explanation - my malay friends call this "lambat loading" situation... haha...)

this is dangerous when you're on the roads later.

enjoy riding, and ride safe.

just my $0.02

Goodee hor hot goodee... Mat witz sebastian! :p
