Hi guys, not been on this forum for awhile. I passed my 2B TP test in April 2014. It was the first time I took it and cleared it with 8 points. I did a video on the road route for 2B riders (used a GoPro on my car). Will upload it on youtube once I get the opportunity to edit it. I will include some tips on what to look out for in the video. Let me know if anyone is interested in this and I'll do it as soon as I can. I can do it on my motorbike so you can have a good idea of what it's like; if you guys want.

As for Lesson 7 with a 90% failure rate is simply not true. The instructors are not out to fail you. For my Lesson 7, half of my group passed. I passed it the first time because I got all my blindspots and checking back squared away. I did 3 circuit revisions before L7 and no road revision. Don't lose points for safety checks. I've seen many people unsure of which direction to turn your head. You have to do your homework and remember what they teach you.

Within courses such as S course you have to use brake.

Assuming S course is Fig 8, i got demerit points in L7 just because i used my brakes. After that, the instructor told me that i cant use brake while negotiating bends or cornering.I still got the score sheet as prove.

The demerit point fall under E18. Brake when negotiating bend / turning.

And its possible to clear Fig 8 without brakes.Cause after i failed that L7,i went for a few circuit revisions and now i can clear Fig 8 without brakes.

22 May 2014 - Passed TP (1st attempt)

28 May 2014 - Pulsar 200 NS (FBH2***Y)

Sure you can. On a light 2B school bike, pretty much anything is doable. But how about next year when you come back for 2A? The heavy S4 doesn't respond well to insufficient throttle, and throttling too much on an S4 will send you up the kerb. I did my 2B S course without rear brake too, and felt proud about it. Until of course I went back for 2A, and realised why the school teaches us to use the rear brake in the narrow courses. The rear brake is essential if you need to control a big, powerful bike in a narrow space.

You can do things your own way for 2B, with a light, weak bike. You can even turn the bike by simply leaning left or right. I would however advise that you get the techniques right while learning, otherwise all the bad habits that you pick up now will come home to roost next year when you return to take your 2A, on a far less forgiving bike.

And your instructor is talking about bends on the road. SSDC teaches its students to use rear brakes on all it's courses except crank, where its possibly optional.

Ya you can take prac 1 - 4. After circuit assessment (prac 4), you will need to have your PDL to go for lesson 5 and above

Unfortunately, PDL is compulsory from Lesson 1 onwards.

The instructors are so strict that even if you have a valid PDL and did not bring it along during the lesson, you will not be allowed to attend that particular lesson.

Dont think can appeal for failed TP test....

2B is tough cos of road and circuit test , do practice more within 2 months of waiting for next TP.

hah! i failed twice, 24 and 32 points, almost 90% from circuit. those damn blindspots...

instructors always ask me if im waiting for TP after seeing me ride on the road, but when they see me in circuit, all facepalm.
